Goes off the clock... my ****

Featured Replies

£000's spent.....180bhp and 325lb torque

With a PD160 intake and a Green filter, Jabba got me the same number of horses and just 13 less torques. Those are 13 very expensive torques !

It looks like a nice car

with a lot of time and money spent on it

Personal opinion, but I don't like the wheels, the rear lights, the eyebrows, the butchered front to accommodate a virtually unnecessary FMIC and the need to offset the plate, and why remove the rear wiper ?

Time & money maybe. Nice ? Hmmm ! Not to my eyes. I'd consider the suspension products, and spend any extra on brakes if I were to commit similar expenditure to my own car, but mine's finished until the day I sell her. Well, once I get my splitter on :D

i dont think the front has been butcherd plus ive always like the offset number plate look.

The **** end of the furbie looks mint, who needs a wiper clutering up the smooth lines.

Saying that

i wouldnt be interested in buying it:D

That is a fooookin long 3rd gear if it goes off the clock.............:D:D:D

On a serious note though..... styling is not to what I like, wheels too big, suspension too low to be practical, front looks good, could've done with a more square plate IMO.

looks a nice wee car and time and effot gone in to it. Not sure on the wheels through

Davy

Someones obviously looked after it and spent a fair amount of money on it but personal taste is just that, personal.

Shame about the dodgy phone photos! I do like the look of it...

maybe the changed the rev limiter, i know some petrol remaps do increase the rev limiter.

With 325Lbs/Ft it won't be long before a clutch is needed :rubchin:

In the add they say it's very fast and goes off the clock (Maybe it needs a clutch now  )

the front bumper must be a personal choice thing, because the forge fmic fits perfectly well without butchering,it probably does go off the clock,i took a pic of mine on a private test sesion at a 140 indicated and showed everyone down at trax last year, sat nav said i was doing 126,so with a re map the indicated top speed could well be off the clock, but we all kw how optimistic the fabia speedo is,looks like a well cared for example, and low milage to boot.

Mine didnt go off the clock with a 200bhp tune but it got up to a nice figure. Admittedly the private road wasnt long enough to try without plowing into a tree at the end - and I'm not trying those speeds in the UK unless on a track ;) :P

Don't think it looks too bad myself, although I can't open the full size pictures for some reason so only going on the small ones, alloys look out of place but the rest of it looks ok.

With regards to the off the clock, quite possible IF its running 180 bhp as my standard Mk II Octy vRS has been off the clock at 160mph when the Sat Nav was still showing 145mph.

Polished once a week

Even if he means waxing, that's ridiculous.

or a new turbo

my brother has got 176 with just the Jabba remap, PD160 and Green filter, total outlay less than £500 , so it seems a lot of money has been wasted on the car for sale

It would be impossible to go off the clock with those mods and 180 bhp. The top speed is 130mph as this is all it's geared to do, my car has 180 and it will NOT go above 130 mph

seen neoVR pass me @ 140 with similar mods....

Mine would hit 140 on the GPS with just remap

Yours must be broken.

Hmm, my err "friend" has seen 130 on GPS in a standard car.

if the clock was accurate i would agree,150 would be difficult, and jabba lukes only(i use this term loosley)hit 147mph on performance tuners timing gear with 249bhp and 430 ft lbs,BUT the clock is no where near acurate i hit 140 as standard on the clock, but gps said only 126,i even photographed it:thumbup:

More likely your GPS is faulty.

My car ran 145 on the clocks, which was around 130 on GPS and it wouldn't do any more than that.

Faulty GPS.... I am not going to get into a discussion about this because I don't care enough. Besides the Deja Vu comming from this thread is so bad I may have to lie down. I seem to remember a colossus thread where we all came to the conclusion that it possible to get 140 but not 150 for obvious reasons

Well all im going to say is at 130 indicated on speedo and mines is pretty bang on as i have a road angel the revs were at around 4.2k, it will NOT go any quicker than this :)

Roughly 128 on the clocks equals 118 mph on GPS.

So this claimed 140 on GPS, would be well off the 150 clocks.. Which in my opinion, is a massive down hill sprint.

assuming every engine offers the same output, all fuel, tyres, aero, wind, road surface etc are equal...

which they wont be.....

It depends on the accuracy of the speedo's. They are not all the same. For example the speedo on my Golf verified by 2 GPS units says mine over reads by 2mph at over 3 figure speeds.
