Some of you may ask why but let me just say, just looking at the car now makes me feel awesome! What do you guys think?

Thanks... and all done on a student budget...ish.

P.s Love Felix!

Looks good Duggie. What drop did you go for in the end?

Steve

Looks nice, mind if i ask how much it set you back?

  • Author

I don't know exactally how low I went, i think we went for -40mm on the front and -35 on the back.

As for total cost i tried to keep it below £1000, due to the fact that I am a student and such.

Coilovers: £495.00

Alloys: £50.00

Labour: £125

Total: £670.00

Keep in mind though i will need to get some new tyres all round that will set me back £260 for all 4.

Thanks guys... i just don't want to drive it now! Just want to sit back and look at it!

-Duggie.

Lower!

Needs another 20/25 mm ;)

Lower!

For a young lad on a tight budget I reckon it looks mighty fine

Lower!

(OK I'll stop now!)

Looks good mate!

I say lower too, you have gone to the expense of coilovers when they weren't needed at all, a set of Eibachs would have gave you the same effect and probably a more comfortable ride.

Id get it slammed if i paid that much

It sure does look good.

I agree though, winding down the calipers a touch more wouldn't go a miss ;)

very nice looking skoda there, i reckon would look smarter abit more lower than that tho, ive just bought a fabia classic and i thought off getting coilovers and some alloys wheels, i reckon ill do something along the lines you have done, im very impressed!

Lookin good, Love Doctor Dug.

Lookin' good!

Now get out and drive it :D

Not sure about the shouts of Lower, depends if your sump hangs down like the VRS does?

Think the height looks spot on - any lower and it's going to look ch@vvy and slammed and I'm sure that's not the look you're after ;) Did you have the 4-wheel alignment checked after the fitting?

Chris

How much did your insurance increase with all those mods declared :)

  • Author

It's having the wheel alignment done tomorrow... there wasn't much point in doing it before the alloys went on. My insurance company knows about all of the modifications and so far it has increaced by a total of..... £ 0! Pretty lucky i think. I'm with Churchill and paid £1000 this year (18 years old).

Thanks for the positive comments and i'm happy to answer any questions...

Oh, and i took it for a quick drive today and felt great... need to get the alignment sorted though.

-Duggie.

Wheels and ride height look great.

Felix decal looks awful IMO, but to each his own.

that is spot on:thumbup:

Your car looks brilliant mate.

If i still had mine i would have done the same.

What about a vrs style front bumper to complete the look?

The alignment has finally been done, took it down to Silverstone and a mate did it there using a very special VAG laser alignment thingy, said he normally charges £300... thank god he's a friend! I'm not going to get a VRS bumper purely down to the cost issue, plus the fact that i don't want to build a car that you can buy off the shelf. To add to that, it only had 68bhp, i'd be letting the VRS team down if i dreesed mine up and it was all show and no go.

I have also taken the sidestrips off now... looks a whole lot smoother!

Drives great!

Thanks folks!

-Duggie.

Good to hear

A nice car as it is mate :)

If you're still thinking about mods, the Sport model bumper, with round fogs, could be an interesting alternative?

Steve

That looks really nice , I think its low enough as it is as well. Good Job!!
