Once in a while wont mind.... Opted for second as its a bit hard to stop it from spinning in first while holding a bloody camera ;)

Sorry. I'm still awaiting the 0-100 video that you've recorded and included the GPS speed. :)

Thanks.

now bud i have ma fabia vrs remaped to 177 bhp and 350 ft pound of tourque, a good m8 of mine has a standards type R and off the line there ant much in it but top end the civic wins, but considering the fabia it is so much fun to drive i love it

Sorry for being nosy, but christ, I'm suprised you walked away from that

Hey there,

This is my first post here so, hello!

I've been looking to get my hands on an unmodified 2004/2005 Fabia VRS with the impression that it's superior in performance to the mk4 gti (the 150 and the 180 bhp versions). Would I be right? How would it compare to the ep3 Civic Type R? Does it really require remapping to compete?

One other thing... I know the official 0-60 for the Furby is 9.5 but I've heard that the actual time is somewhere in the region of 7.5/8.2. Whats the story there?

Cheers,

V

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda. This topic is really going to get some people going....

This is my opinion:

Skoda Fabia vRS - Great little car, Good MPG for the speeds and power as standard. They do tend to leave certain cars.

I had my Fabia done with a simple re-map and tbh yes it's quick but the car needed to have its ride height altered then I would look at changing the breaks and so on and so on.

The Golf GTI - Many people like this car. I myself love it but it wasn't what I was looking for as we already have 2 Golfs within the family at this moment in time.

The honda civic Type R that I own as standard just makes me smile - sure you have to go to 6000-7,000rpm with the VTEC but a simple ECU mod can alter all that. It is also a good size car with the later models including tints, recaros, facelift lights and red carpet as standard.

I know this is a Skoda Website and all but - If you were interested in a CTR then give me a PM and I will take you out in mine.

Please note - This was my verdict on all the cars - It's your choice really.... Goodluck

Yeah i had a few good mods and a few bad ones with that 306!

The trashed one was one of my friends who fell asleep shortly after dropping me off, was a close one

|Guess you now know what i look like.... bummer eh!

Official time is 16 dead. Depends on where you go and what you read.

Autocar is 15.5, Evo magazine is 16.9 I think the official 16 is a good rounded off number.

That is quite impressive and certainly better than i would have thought:thumbup:

Edited, as I got the magazines the wrong way around!

here jasc here is a video of 2 octavia's and a fabia on an airfield, the video car is a remapped 150bhp FWD elegence with no other mods and the white one is a 4x4 with remap, exhaust, intake, fmic, brakes and suspension, the fabia i think only had a remap but maybe had more.

this was the third run i believe.

Yes okay. Still a cracking wee car the vrs and Economy and Performance wise i dont think it can be matched

my furby isnt that much slower than the one in the video and its only got a tuning box and pd160

i do think that the fabia vRS is a great little car but what it isn't is a super car as some(not saying you) think of it :)

I have owned The Gti150 diesel and currently own a vrs and new golf Gti and have driven a type R .A Revo map on the Vrs makes the performance similar to the new gti and type R and easily quicker than the PD150 Gti.The Vrs feels quicker than them all but on road performance is pretty even .Anybody who has ever raced will know that it takes a big power advantage for one car to easyly run away from another. With the Gti also remapped it will run away from the Vrs but not by as much as you would think. I race the wife alot lolol.Just out of interest I had a dragon digital tuning box on the PD150 Gti and it was then even with the Vrs but it didnt handle as well or feel as quick but the PD150 did rev out alot better.Oh yes the type R very disapointing its no fun reving it so hard just to get a quick burst of power on the daily comute to work. Sounds great when at full tilt though just not my cup of tea.

why do you insist on endlessly posting that video, when you know full well it doesn't reflect actual factual real world results

Yes okay. Still a cracking wee car the vrs and Economy and Performance wise i dont think it can be matched

but the Polo GT TDI is slightly quicker to 60, returns slightly better mpg and has slightly lower CO2 emssions. and yes, despite those being the facts, I am taking the p*ss :D

I think it can.

Polo PD130,

Ibiza PD130,

Golf PD130,

Beetle PD130,

Civic Type-S diesel

Puntio tdi 130 .... and many more... :P:P
