Hi All

Only joined today so hope I get a good welcome!

The car is on order and I just want some ideas of things to do to help it perform that don't need to be insurance notified.

When it gets delivered I can prob spend £300 on frivolities (hope to do the fitting myself).

I was looking on the jetex website at air filters / induction kits etc.

I like the woosh given with some turbo's and this doesn't appear to happen on vRS's unlike my current Ibiza Cupra T.

What benefits do the induction kits give? I was looking at the carbon induction kit.

Also looking at exhaust kits, I don't want to put a ****-can on but I'd like it to sound a little masculine if you get me?!

Obviously I have £300 for a starter and then the future is more things.

Car needs to sound/look sexy not saaaad.

Cheers for any ideas!

Karen

Love the user-name!

And welcome :)

Thanks Babs. :)

LCR Spitter?

Panel filter?

List goes on.

Save up for a remap is what I'm gonna say, as will probably many people.

At the risk of sounding dim, what is an LCR splitter?!!

Also isn't a remap insurance notifiable? (ie £££s on premium)

Panel filter - is that different to an air filter?

Oh I really am sounding dim now...

welcome to the forum. :)

which vRS is it? Mk1 Octy or Mk2?

The car is on order...

Sadly any modification will be insurance notifiable, but age and postcode will affect how much the premium increases, if at all. Some suggestions (in no particular order)

- VAG-COM

- Limit handling/driver improvement course

- £300 towards Koni FSD dampers

- £300 towards a remap

- New set of tyres to replace the awful stock ones

- Detailing products to keep it clean and shiny (inside and out)

Any ideas on things that aren't classed as modifications (incidentally I am 28 - well when the car gets delivered!)

ie. If I change an air filter to a jetex surely I don't notify insurance?

thanx ScoobyChris

Mr Bint.

Try and shop around for insurance regarding mods. I've found most companies charge sod all extra for things like air filters and suspension changes, but are a bit more unfriendly with remaps etc. :)

£300

You need a nice new bush you do, not the saggy thing you are saddled with at the moment

http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=95|GV&type=23&ltype=ns_euro&p_id=1962

Then you need a nice shiny shifter, to give you the gear change the vRS should have

http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=95|GV&type=3&ltype=ns_euro&p_id=1995

A forge diverter valve will prevent embarrasing splits in you're diaphragm

Forge Motorsport

Then I would save the wee bit of stash that's left, and as it grows, spend it on some Koni FSD's and Eibach springs to give you a more compliant yet lower ride

Then there is the remap potential of the 2.0T, Will at performance Torque can sort that out for you or you could go switchable and buy REVO. Going the Remap route you may encounter fuel cut's which would need the hi-flow fuel pump, but my vRS ran stage 2 and I never suffered any fuel cuts (bit of a lottery)

All down to personal preference, of course, and welcome to briskodaland

Hiya and welcome, don't forget to save £12 to go 'green' :)

Cheers for any ideas!

Mr Bint.

Spend the £300 on the new Fuel Pump available.

You gotta go for the Viper Stripes, surely!

Or spend £300 on a new digital camera so you can post pics on here when the car arrives!

fuel pump?

is this like my magic pd160 mod on the fabia?

25bhp it sounds similar;)

I do feel offended, but you've done it already.. so ... :P;):D

I don't believe you need to change the map for the fuel pump, unlike the PD160 intake. It's normally 160bhp with a remap, and 190 with a remap and PD160 intake. All know that Gary, all know that...:rofl:

 at Mr Bint.

My apologies Karen.

apology accepted! no worries.

Leon Cupra R front splitter.

Yes it is but depends on your age, etc....

Yeah it just replaces your paper filter.
