Alarm problems since nice weather started.

Featured Replies

I have done a search because I know there have been others that have experienced this, but I need a structured answer which I'm not getting whilst sifting through all the threads. (Maybe a sticky will help?).

We have been having fantastic weather for about the last week with bright sunshine all day and nice temperatures. My alarm in my vrs has been going off every night since this weather started. Thank goodness it only happens the once and doesn't repeat itself or my neighbours would be less than impressed. I remember something about closing the air vents which I did two nights ago but hasn't made any difference. I have only tried this.

What else can I do?

Do you have any plastic bottles etc in the car?

Chris

My sons vrs did this when the weather changed for 2 years....and then he found a spider...so far not gone off for while.....but it cant be that simple..can it, I mean what does the spider do for the rest of the year:rofl:

I'm not convinced by the insect theory. This is too much of a coincidence with this nice weather.

@Chris, no I don't have any plastic bottles that I'm aware of in the car

mine did this on a 53 plate when it was under warrenty. Took it in and they knew straight away what the problem was. There was an upgraded circuit board fitted to the later cars (its in the overhead light cluster i think) relating to the alarm and the sensor in the cabin. They changed it and the problem never occured again. Think the mechanic even showed me the technical bullitin regarding the fix from skoda

I'm not convinced by the insect theory.

spiders aren't insects:D:D:D

An update for anyone who may have the same problem in the future....

Took my car in for it's service today and asked them to investigate this strange behaviour. Well they plugged her in and indeed a fault showed up and they said it is now rectified. I couldn't get anymore info than that but it was a cracking day down here today so perfect conditions for it to play up. So far I havn't heard a peep

Mine likes to go off if someone is locking/unlocking another VAG car nearby , not all the time , but 6 or 7 times out of 10 there was a Golf or something nearby!!
