Engine's annoyed

Don't get jittery over this!!! Your recent experience is as a direct result of a 'monkey' making a hash of the install and NOT of the components you have chosen!. All the parts you have including the remap are first class and will not let you down now that it's been fitted correctly.

Trust me on this one and at least for the next few days 'sleep on it', then decide what you want to do, you'll be missing out on some serious fun with your car if you dont.

Well I'm back.

Standard map is running fine... maybe better than fine! :)

Performance map... not so fine... my car gets to 3k revs and then just won't accelerate.

Donning my deerstalker hat :holmes:... I realised that when the car was mapped the Carbonio was installed, and it now has the standard intake back on.

Anybody think this would make a difference?

Do you think putting the carbonio back on would solve the problem?

That sounds suspiciously like a fuel cut. When you had your Revo map installed what settings did the dealer apply for Boost Timing and Fuel respectively?

I had a similar problem but it was not until 5k before the car would 'hit a brick wall' and would appear to stop accelerating. After installing the Forge DV and the Autotech fuel pump, my car now seems ok.

I doubt whether or not the Carbonio will make that much of a difference, but any changes can only be positive.

Boost - 7

Timing - 6

Fuel - 9

They're the settings that ADS set the car up for.

Before the problem with the DV, my car had the Carbonio installed and the car worked fine with no issues... I fitted the stock intake in case I had to take her to the dealers (though they haven't been bothered by it before) and this is still on the car at the moment.

Couldn't accelerate past 3k without a struggle and switching back to standard has cured the problem... must be the map freaking out because of the absence of the 'bonio.

Those settings look too high, potentially dangerously so! Did ADS log your car before giving you the keys as I'm guessing that part of the issues you are experiencing could be associated with timing! Most cars that leave JKM are on B6 T4 F9 although there is slight variation depending on the car.

My advice would be to turn the settings down to the ones I've suggested and get it logged on Vagcom.

FWIW, I don't think your Carbonio will make much of a difference to the current running issues you have.

One of the young kids did the car for me... I don't think that they logged it with VAG-COM

They were awfully quick to take the cash from me and send me on my way without even a test drive. :thumbdwn:

I'll have to get in touch with ADS again to have it sorted because I haven't got a select plus device :o

B6 T4 F9 got it :)

I find it shocking and frankly unacceptable that some REVO franchises are clearly not qualified to carry out even basic mapping. To send you on your way having relieved you of several hundred pounds without even a basic test run is shocking :thumbdwn:

ADS did the same thing to Mr Fluffmeister... unfortunately they were the only company that I could get in touch with. :(

Do you think it's worth kicking up a fuss or just asking... "please can you sort this for me" nicely?

Can I go to any Revo Franchise to get the settings changed or do you have to go back to the one that you went to originally?

Sadly it seems you have recieved a less than perfect service and it at times like this when you can see why people do travel significant distances to get good service.

Those settings you posted do seem a little agressive for your current setup, as Steve has aluded to a proper garage should have carried out a full diagnostic check before and after the map as well as carrying out a road test to set it up.

I think some of your problems would have been caused by the issue with the DV.

Oh dear Paul what a shame.

I think you'd be making a mistake by putting the car back to standard.

Paul there is a Revo dealer in congleton cheshire Votex.I have heard good things about these.

Jay can you go to any Revo Dealer to have the settings changed - or do you have to go back to the original dealer who installed the software?

I should think so - or someone with an SPS can do it for you.

Sorry i don't know,give them a ring.

I think you should get your car back to ADS to check yours out then give it another week or so to decide whether or not you want to keep the map.

Like people have said, don't just get it taken off completely until you have had the full experience of the map.

Hope you get it all sorted.

Been in touch with ADS... car's going in in a couple of days.

Dave (the main man) said that the settings that were installed on the car (B7 T6 F9) were fine and he's run them before without any problems

I'm going to ask him to lower the settings to the ones recommended and see how we go from there.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Paul, I'm sure that Dave will run through the setup of the car with you and he'll be able to look at whether the issue you're having is 'fuel cut'. Without looking at the car it's difficult to say what the issue you're encountering is however it's easy to guess at!

I've set up a fair few TFSI cars over the last month and have been able to run very similar settings to those you have, I'm sure once you've been back into see Dave you'll be more than happy!

Just re-read this thread... chances are now the intake is back to stock those settings are probably too high. The intake does make a fair amount of difference!

I've never had any issues with the job ADS do for us, they certainly know how to set a car up! Glad you're giving them the chance to have another look at the car now your DV issue is fixed and you've different hardware on, I'm sure you'll be happy!

There may be some discrepancy over this as you're probably aware. In your manual for advanced setup procedures timing is a key issue and one that should not exceed pulling out more than -6. I've not seen a single car that has been able to run higher than Timing 5 without getting into this territory and its only recently been possible with the introduction of the uprated fuel pump and modified settings with a full Stage II car

The Carbonio intake is not a full induction kit like an EVOMS or Neuspeed but just a larger intake section and performance panel filter. It does give you minimal gains of around 5bhp but not enough to warrant messing with timing or boost.

HI Guy's, Spoken to the customer this morning and have agreed to take a look this coming thursday. Lewis my collegue installed the setting upon my instuction based on Vast experience with the fitted equipment at the time. However i am responsible for not testing the vehicle and carrying out any logs ! Of which i take full responsibilty. :(

Having carried out 100's of logs on these vehicles with and without induction systems i can confidently confirm a significant difference to readings with stock vs aftermarket induction kits which will ultimately affect our REVO settings.

It saddens me however to think people have had a less than satisfactory job carried out by ourselves as we take a lot of pride with each and every job we under take and can assure everbody that we stand by all the work we carry out and will go to great lenghts to make sure everybody is totally satisfied. If any body has any problems relating to REVO software installed by ourselves please don't hestiate to contact me on 01772 201597. Thanks. :)

Cheers Dave.

As I mentioned on the phone I'm not pointing fingers... everybody makes mistakes but in these cases little mistakes like Awesome made can prove to be very costly :(

We're only human - and I'll be happy getting my car working again! ;)

Looks like a good outcome is on the way

Yeah, don't you worry i'll make sure it right !

Update :)

Car is now fixed and Revo is running strong... thanks for sorting it out for me Dave

It was, however, disconcerting when Dave found another loose clip in the engine bay  which he quickly fixed for me too.

Overall I'm happy with the outcome - though still a little annoyed at Awesome for putting me through it! :(

Revo's now running at B6 T5 F9 and is sweet as a nut - didn't realise how much I missed the power ;)

Thanks to ADS and everybody else for your support - see you at Weston ;)

I hate happy endings! :(
