Interest in a Milltek exhaust?

Featured Replies

I have been able to find a source for a Milltek CAT back system for the RS at 25% off. If anyone wants one let me know quick as there's only a couple left.

From the lack of response to this topic to date I assume the exhaust is:

a) either too expensive even with 25% off to be considered

B) you all have them fitted as part of the complete Milltek system

c) they are not worth bothering with as the benefits in performance and sound are not worth the cost + fitting-surely not true judging by those who have them?

chris, i'm surprised no-ones interested. i had assumed from the silence that maybe someone had emailed you......

really people, how often will you be able to get a QUALITY exhaust at 25% off?!

after a good few miles running mine in , i'm very happy with it. heard it as it was driven off by one of the service guys at the local dealer and was v. happy with it. purposeful but not max muppet stylee.

Did you find worthwhile improvements in performance with the system apat form the sound? I believe you have the complete Sports CAT, d/p and back end with an APR chip?

Jon's rolling road results are very good: + 30 lbf.ft torque.

Well then, what exactly does 25% off mean in real terms.

If it is 25% off

Well not quite. It works out at 200 with the discount.

Wow!

200 sheets sounds good , so where do we get em?...and how much for postage?

no chris, i just have the catback, only a handful of bhp. difficult to tell of a performance increase as i got the optimax prog. on my APR at the same time and was blown away by that!! didnt get it for the performance side, wanted a meatier look and sound. without the performance cat, i should be putting out about high 220's to 230. apr have said that with their standard 95 RON programme, octavias are putting out 220bhp regularly, or so i've been told. add in a few for the exhaust, mabe 4 or 5bhp, another 10 -15 for the optimax prog. and you're looking at topping 230 bhp

i'll say mid 220's for mine though it could easily be more 8)

huck

with 230bhp on tap how is this effecting traction. I have slightly less bhp with mega amounts of lost traction in 1st and 2nd. Have you tried any remedies, perhaps you`ve had no problems to date, maybe it`s my driving skills or lack of............hmm.

first gear never used in anger at all otherwise wheelspin city. progressive application with 2nd in damp/wet and no probs at all. if pushing it in tight 2nd gear turns in the damp can spin really easily. progressive seems to be the key. in dry can still spin if want to but generally can hoof it and only have TCS cutting in temporarily. no real problems at all getting used to that way of driving.

now what was i reading about that 300bhp conversion.........

just kidding, got enough for now - at least while the warranty remains.....

Could interested parties (Mr Lucky or Dmac1969vRS) contact me privately to arrange delivery? The PM function didn't seem to work.

This offer is still open for just one Milltek CAT back system at a great price - 200 notes. I need to know by end of the week though.

This is the final offer for just one Milltek CAT back system at a price of

so chris, what was the upshot of it all? any interest/did you get one for yourself?

  • Author

There was no other interest that was surprising after all the hype. I am hoping to get one myself though. You and Jon seem to rate them although the actual benefits in performance seem marginal. My thoughts are that a 2.5 inch system is ideal and maybe I can pick up a Sports CAT and d/p to match one day at a lower price.

I must admit I am/was interested in the exhaust but the APR chip comes first.

Both are going for a 25% which is real good but both deals come at the wrong time for me (Christmas/finances).

Thanks for finding out about the exhaust though Chris. (we really need a thumbsup icon).

Cheers.

Adrian.

I guess the question is whether the Milltek rear is worth getting for when I can afford a sports CAT section, Milltek or otherwise as it is the correct size: 2.5 inch.
