1.8T VW Passat 0-60 time

Featured Replies

Can someone tell me what the official 0-60 time is for a bog standard 04 registered 1.8T Sport Passat, I need to explain to someone that it aint 6.4 seconds!

dunno but the vr6 4 motion passat was 6.7 so would guess about 8.5...

For this to 'stick' I need VW's figures!

Well the 1.8T 150bhp is still used in the Polo Gti which gives 8.2 secs, and in the Beetle @ 8.7 seconds if that helps.

Can't find any for the Passat though.

what about the Superb 1.8t?

looky here Road Tests: VW Passat 2001

1.8 litre 20v petrol turbo: 0-60 9.0 seconds; top speed 137mph; combined mpg 34.0; CO2 emissions 199g/km (auto 233g/km)

Make: Volkswagen

Model: Passat Sport 1.8 20t

Power: 150

Weight: 1348

(KG) BHP/Ton: 113.06

0 - 60: 9.2

8.9 according to parkers.

8.9 according to parkers.

or 8.3 for the 160PS version and 7.6 if it's the 190PS version (assuming they did the same as the A4)

anyway, aren't books figures rubbish? don't they undervalue the car's peformance to get a lower insurance group? and test the car 4up with a bootfull of luggage, whilst towing a caravan  :P

8.9 Seconds lads

1.8 20V T 150bhp

VW went all out to get a poor 0-60 time for the Touareg :D

I think the official answer is 'slow'.

Which 1.8T Passat are we on about here? The old 1.8 20vT or the new 1.8TFSI?

Have you a link to an official VW type webpage confirming this or maybe a brochure image? The sort of person I'm trying to convince will dismiss pretty much anything I put to him that doesn't have an official 'VW' stamp!

try actually reading between the lines for christs sake, you slate the 1.8T passat for being slow when the 140bhp mkII octavia you drive is slower.

******* hell some people on here are difficult sometimes :(
