Featured Replies

Was speaking to another Briskodian a couple of nights ago and showed him my PD160, while inspecting this he asked why i had a silver and green engine cover badge, he then showed me his, his was black and green?

Newer cars had the plain badge I think. Do you both have different battery box tops?

No didnt really look though but his had a cover like mines (not like the new ones with no covers)

Ahh thinking about it now his was on 05 ??

Q - can these badges be put on the grille and the rear tailgate??

yeah mines an 05.....it can be put on but it feels cheap and plasticy and thin

im nearly there with the coilovers now though

They were different, i think they are part of the moulding of the cover.

Oh and there plain black not black and green.

Mine's an 05 and came with the plain black one.

Now got a nice coloured one though - looks much better.

I think there was a cut off on the models, mine is a 05 and has the badge that jasc1988 has on his, think the newer ones came with a black badge, and no battery cover which I thought was a cheap cost cutting method by skoda.

hmm weird one, must have been some cars that I have seen newer than a 55 plate which do not have the battery cover.

Davy

Mines got the same battery cover as above.

The parts guy at the dealership was surprised when I went in to order the coloured badge. He thought that they all had them.

Mine is the same as Stu's. Black badge and battery cover. I've taken the badge off and replaced it with a "dragon" for obvious reason ;)

I've done the black badge on the front with a black colour coded chrome grill bit. I think it looks good, makes it a bit more aggressive.........in my opinion lol

Mine's a 55 plate, black badge and battery cover. Think I might invest in a shiny new green badge :-)

Just out of curiosity, what does it say on the sticker on the battery cover? For some reason, the one that was on mine has been removed.

Cheers,

Clive

Of the black badge on the front grille

As far as i'm aware......

The battery cover was changed on 06 cars onwards.....

The black engine cover badge was on cars from 54 plate onwards...... Don't forget the badge is a simple 60 second job that costs about a fiver so there could be quite a few newer cars with the older coloured badge that has been swapped by previous owners...... Both of ours came with black badges and now have the older coloured badges.

The stickers on the battery covers usually tell you when the brake fluid was replaced..... When they changed the battery cover they moved the sticker to the front edge of the body next to the bonnet locking mechanism.

Personally with regards to using the black badges as exterior badges i'm not a fan...... They just aren't good quality plastic and mark / scratch very easily as they aren't designed to be out in the open.

Cheers

Dave.

Yeah you can

I used to have a black front and rear badge on my fabia

I ended up putting the standard badge back on the front due to me thinking it didnt look right after a few weeks living with it

But ive still got the black badge on the rear

If you put the black badge on the rear you have to heat it up with a hair dryer and bend it slightly so it will fit
