Hello from Little Jo

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm looking to purchase a new Fabia estate shortly and have signed up to make sure I make good choice on spec etc. It's to be a replacement for my ageing Vauxhall Astra - the new Astra isn't good for us due to the tiny boot opening and poor Vauxhall dealers in our area.

So far, we've narrowed our choice to either the 1.4 16v engine or the 1.6 16v. It will probably be storm blue and we're sorely tempted by the level 3 trim, though the 16" alloys seem a bit OTT. We are wondering if the ESP and cornering headlamps are worth having. What about underseat storage? Are the cubby holes big enough to accommodate useful items?

All your feedback would be gratefully received.

Jo

welcome to briskoda

Hellooo.

I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to help out, all I can really say is that you've come to the right place!

Hiya.

I thought that 16" alloys and 205 section tyres seemed excessive on an Octy, until I found out just how planted the car feels in corners.

I think there are general debates on the value or otherwise of ESP and "cornering headlights". Try using the site search facilities.

Welcome

16"s are ok and replacement tyres aren't to badly priced. I'd probably say yes to the ESP and extra cubbyholes but no to the cornering headlights. I just think they're a bit to 'gimmicky'.

I'll probably be proved wrong though :D

welcome along from another x vauxhall owner.

Welcome to Briskoda from another little person!!

Just about to get my first Skoda (Fabia vRS) so can't give any recommendations as yet. If you haven't had answers to your questions, try posting in the Fabia section.
