Cheap PDA and TomTom again

Featured Replies

I asked TotalPDA here if they would price match PC World's price. No surprises at their reply:

"Thank you for your recent enquiry

At Total PDA we do our best to Price Match our competitors wherever possible, subject to it being the same product and that the other company has the item in stock

We have checked the PC World website and received the following message:

SORRY

Due to high demand the following item(s) are currently unavailable.

HP & TOM TOM 2210 IN-CAR NAVIGATION SYSTEM

We are unable to price match PC World as that was a very limited offer, however we have the package in stock at the moment for

no suprise really denis, I wonder if they had any to sell at that price

EVERYBODY QUICK PC WORLD WEB SITE HAS THEM BACK IN STOCK!!

And with Dr Zoidbergs code you can get it for

13:37 - Temporarily out of stock............. :(

11:22 Temporarily Out of Stock!!!!!

But one of 4 special offer items advertised in a full page ad in today's Independent! (Don't bother trying to order on line - there aren't any for sale). :(

Probably the usual PCWorld tactic...

They dangle a carrot to get you onto the site / into the store, where you find they've sold out and go for the more expensive option they just happen to have in stock...

As for buying ex-display stuff from PCW (or Dixons / Currys in general). Take my advice. Don't risk it ;)

Just bought the same pack/offer from my friendly local Dixons store

Hmm, Our local dixons (now closing) didnt stock this even before the closure anouncment. I can only assume you have no PC World nearby, hence the dixons stock.

It's also listed on the Dixons site, but listed as "temporarily out of stock"

I have 4 PC Worlds within a 30 mile radius. The Dixons site listed the unit as out of stock, so I visitied the store on an off chance.

In my Dixons store they only displayed the PDA but when I asked about the offer they confirmed they had three units in stock (this is local store stock as opposed to internet stock)

Hope this may help somebody!?
