Any thoughts as to why the estate is slower (yes only just) less economical and has a higher (155 v 150) CO2 reading? All other models are the same hatch and estate.

FRom Skoda (direct infor after fleet request) all models produced from week 22 are the CR engine with a CO2 of 150 - yet the latest catalogue shows it to be 151 (UK site), but 150 on the skoda-auto site...............

That 1, or 5 for the estate, extra CO2 reading is critical for company car tax.

I'm sure all the common rail VW's will have delphi fuel systems. the main reason they have drop'd PD is cost!! they are expensive to build. And common rail is much cheaper!

Your dealer SHOULD know this !

I ordered mine on 1st of June and the Dealer asked me which engine I wanted the old PD or new CR

I was quoted 8 weeks delivery

Well it's the old pd but I've negociated a bit of a "generic remap" type thingy into the deal which I pressume will not be out on the new engine yet

I ordered my VRS in April, wasnt rushed to get it so was in build week 23!

Due in this week so I reckon I might have the first new engine in the uk???

Delphi management? Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear.

GM are dropping the last of their Delphi managed diesels (the 1.7CDTi) - from then on they'll be running Bosch EDC16, same as most of the rest of the world.

Delphi really is the Skod...oh, ****.

Are we 100% sure it will be a "Delphi" CR system ??

DervDoctor ?

any evidence even on the new Audi TT TDi ?

Quote from the Audi TT TDi web page

"Efficient: the new 2.0 litre TDIThe new 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel delivers dynamic thrust, with a power output of 125 kW (172PS) and 350 Nm of torque. Yet at the same time the TT Coupé consumes on average only around 5.3 litres of fuel per 100 km – a previously unequalled low figure in the sports car segment.

The new common rail injection system is equipped with state-of-the-art piezo injectors. Its eight-hole injectors can achieve up to five separate injection events every combustion cycle.

Superb: the road performanceThe 2.0 TDI in the Audi TT Coupé delivers 125 kW (172PS) at 4,200 rpm and sends a full 350 Nm of torque to the crankshaft at engine speeds between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. "

And I got an e-mail from SuperChips today saying they already have a map for it

QUOTE "Thank you for your interest in a Superchips remap for your Audi TT 2.0 TDi 170bhp.

Superchips optimise the performance of your car, helping to maximise your driving pleasure. Your car will gain approximately 27 bhp. There will also be the potential for improved economy when driven carefully.

The recommended retail price is £499, including installation and VAT.

Seems Quick for a new engine
