Maxidot Functionality

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me exactly what this offers over the "normal" IPC?

I've read some of the other threads on it, but I'd like to try and list all the extra functions in one place...

Cheers,

R.

I don't know what you mean by IPC.

Maxidot gives a completely different look to the dash. On later cars it allows for some additional comfort functions to be utilised.

It also supports expansion either with Sat Nav, Columbus or Bluetooth.

Best is to go to a dealers and look at one if you are unsure.

I'm not sure of the difference in 'what functions' between a normal display and a maxidot; but will say that it looks a whole lot smarter and sets off the Instrument Pod perfectly, see here;-

This is a non maxidot dash

The maxidot display is much clearer, and can also display mileage and trip info at the same time, something the LCD display doesnt do which is why my car now has one of these.

Thanks for the pics.

I see that temp/time/mpg info is displayed, is this info not available elsewhere without Maxidot?

(BTW, "IPC" = Instrument Panel Cluster, this is the term used in the automotive industry!)

Cheers,

R.

yes this info can be got from the lcd display, but unlike maxidot it cannot diplay the trip computer/mileage whilst doing so because this info replaces that data. The time on the LCD is always displayed.
