alright mate, thats very clean mate and a nice wee car as well.

When I get time which I will on Monday, I will be cleaning mine.

I use warm water to rinse the muck first, then hot soapy water with a wash mitt to clean the car, afterwards rinse and chamois off.

Then spend the next wee while claying the car and polishing it with turtle wax ice polish, leaves no white marks.

Then I dress all the black trim including all tyres.

start with the roof then work my way down, rinse it after very panel i do to stop the bubbles drying...then..... the lower section, while cleaning the door insides, and sills. under the bonnet, the engine cover, then the wheels and then rinse it off, dry, polish and done:)

I drive to Sainsburys. sitck 4 quid in a machine, drive in and let it clean my car for me. I'm a fundamentally lazy b4stard.

I used to do that mate, but have heard so many stories of cars getting damaged and scratched to bits.

Hose down

Wash with 2 bucket method, using lambswool wash mitt and Auto Glym Shampoo

Dry off with microfibre cloth

Polish with Poorboys SSR1 (ocassionally, other than that Autoglym SRP)

Apply 2 coats of Collinite 476S (usually just a top up will do)

Voila

Bucket of warm water with car shampoo - leather off with genuine chamois.

Usually cannot be bothered to do any more than this, but have some zymol for when the mood takes me. Will wait for it to get a bit warmer first

I go to a local garage (£3.50) they hand wash it there for me. Top Job at a bargain price.

i'll get some pics up when I get back as at work at the min.

Thats looking very clean! Nice colour too! ;)

This is a very valid comment! My Dad (years back, when I was a wee teen) took delivery of a shiny new 97' Saab 9000 CSE in BLACK! (with cream leather.. nice)

Took it through a couple of car washes.. didn't actually damage the paint.. but leaves the top coat with those swirls you see in bright sunlight!

My Dads lazy though.. even when he hand washes his cars he uses a hozek brush that distributes the detergent!.. I hate that brush as I'm sure that also leaves the top coast a lil worse for wear!

I'm with most other people.. warm to hot water.. working from roof down, rinsing after each panel.. dish washing brush on the wheels!

Rob.

I get a pound, and put it in the nearest jetwash.

Then spray until it beeps at me and the water stops coming out.

i pay the guys at asda in kilmarnock a fiver for to hand wash n wax the car. Or if i feel energetic, give them £3 to hand wash the car without the wax, head home, get the Maguires out n spend the next hour or so claying, polishing n waxing.......then go mental coz a bird has **** all over it or the rain has started!!!!! lol lol

The nice people at Winchester Skoda used to wash my Fabia for me every 10k miles or 12 months (whichever came soonest)

Chris

Just waiting for some decent weather to give them a full detail :o

In the meantime soak with a mix of sf and hw, rinse off then wash using 2 bucket method and NXT, dry using QD, wax with NXT.

£1.99 bp gold jetwash. then air dry and out comes the auto glym valeting kit...many hours of great cleaning then use car vac ( 1972 hoover junior ) old skool hehe

Blast with the power washer(not close up, low setting) to remove crap, need to get an attachment for foam.

Clean inside arches with sponge and shampoo if i can be arsed - need to get that citrus stuff and a good brush for under there.

Two or 3 bucket method with megs gold class or AG bodywork shampoo. Using megs microfibre wash mitt.

Clay bar(once a year, usually after the first go it's fine though as i don't park under trees or go through tarry roads).

Clean glass with one of my glass cleaners, got some glass polish too for light grazes, chips and where stickers used to be.

Polish with one of my selection of polishes.

Clean wheels thoroughly, if i can be arsed polish and wax them too.

If i can be arsed wash again with mitt and shampoo.

Detail trim with megs gold class trim detailer, exhaust with autosol.

Either seal or wax bodywork with one of my selection.

Take pictures, enjoy it while it sits on the drive until most of the hard work is undone when i next drive it, although the wax does give good protection and makes it possible to just give it a 2 bucket method wash for the next month or two before i top it up again.

Weekly i do the following:

1.Wash first with warm water.

2.Pre soak wheels and add some Autoglym wheel cleaner.

3.Two Bucket method with grit guards using Megs lambs wool mitten & zymol car wash or auto glym which ever takes my fancy!

3.Wash off.

4.Leave to dry - while waiting hand wash wheels with another megs mitt, clean wheel arches etc.

5.Dry off any excess wet left with waffle weave cloth.

6.Quick top up with chemical guys glaze or poor boys sealant with mf cloth - if im in a rush a quick go over with quick detailer.

7.Poor boys sealant on the alloys.

8.Auto glym tyre dress.

9.Clean door shuts with zymol car wash then poor boys sealant.

10.Vac out interior and use megs interior detailer on dash, doors etc.

11.Megs leather cleaner or conditioner.

12.Autoglym fast glass.

13.Autosol the exhaust.

Once a month:

As above, but will 'pc' the glaze on and wash carpets with chemical guys cleaner.

Clean engine with Autoglym engine cleaner and clean boot.

Rainex all windows and lights.

Every six moths

As above weekly, but full detail:

Clay after washing then 'pc' polish with mez, glaze and seal the wax using collinite 476.

I really like having a clean car, but it does take ages and i am useless at cleaning my glass i have tried loadds and loads of products, including newspaper and i still get damn smears!.

Newspaper isn't any good any more, since they stopped using lead in the printing ink ( around 1980 ).

A decent mf cloth, rinsed in weak washing up liquid to wipe them, and a clean damp one to remove the smears works for me.
