Magnex De-CAT Pipe help

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im considering buying a de-cat for my VRS.

Has anyone got a Magnex one fitted?

FITS FABIA EXHAUST MAGNEX DE CAT PIPE XCRPS12 NEW on eBay, also Exhaust Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-Mar-08 17:18:50 GMT)

And does anyone know if it'll fit on a standard system? or do I need an aftermarket one to go with it?

I know Miltek make a large bore version but its double the price of this one.

Cheers

Neil

Hi, Ive got one fitted. Had it on with the standard systems for a while but now have fitted a milltek cat back.

The standard system is already sleeved so just a straight swap, be aware that taking it/and putting it back on at the turbo is a right pain in the backside. Need to take a few bits off to gain access.

just the undertray i recall

And the pipe from the airbox to the intake, so can get the top bolt

Thanks for your reply.

Did just fitting the de-CAT make much difference to the Noise??? I can't afford a full system at the moment so just want to try and increase the Turbo/Exhaust noise for the time being, as cheap as possible.

Let me know how you get on with it if you decide to buy. I have "the other half" Magnex Cat Back fitted and have been considering the Cat replacement pipe for a while

Thanks for your reply.

Yes it does improve the sound. Hard to explain, you'll just have to do it lol

Can do it all from underneath, just take undertray off. Done it a few times now. That said if you do take the air pipe off as suggested, it is MUCH easier to get to that other bolt :D

Cool, i will purchase one then.

One last question, Do I just need 1 new gasket (Pipe flange to Turbo exhaust housing) and some exhaust putty to mate up with the system? or is there another gasket required for the pipe to system? Im guessing not if its just a sleeve...

Depending where you are, Pipewerx did mine for £70, fitted.

Where abouts are they located mate?

I replaced the gasket yes - it's a triangular one, wasnt too expensive.

To get the OEM exhaust off was a total b*tch - angle grinder etc needed ;)
