Pressure washer + foam help!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Moving into a new house with SWMBO in a couple of weeks so should be able to get some pressure washer action. Also keen to get some foam on the go!

What's the cheapest decent solution for this please?

I don't want to spend silly money, but want something that will last me more than a month :D

Thanks.

The karchers are much better

Thanks for the heads up

I bought a Karcher basic model from Homebase a few ago and seems good, also got a foam bottle/nozzle (Karcher one) on ebay but they are also in Halfords, but not tried that yet, saving that for this weekend for a big clean over easter!

If you haven't bought a pressure washer yet. Argos does a Karcher for £60:thumbup:

I'm off into town later to buy one.

As of Monday Lidl are doing a Lavor which has great spec for £120 sounds alot but a great piece of kit that will out last the cheap Karchers.

Also seen that Ideal World Home Page are doing an Easter deal.

Karcher K2950 + 5 accessories for £99.99 inc delivery.

Also lots of other Karcher stuff with free P&P.

Don't know if this is a good deal or not.

I have a K219 that I bought from Argos, who I see now have it reduced to £35.97 which I a bargain - tenner less than I paid about a month ago.

Well I still haven't bought one....

Looking to spend no more than about £70. There's a karcher 2.21;

------ Welcome to Kärcher UK ------

For £69.99 in Homebase at the moment. I just want to get one that will last me a while.

Still tempted at the halfords hp1400 for £35, at that price I don't mind buying a new one every couple of years.... :D

Or saying that the HP1500 which is half price @ £69.99.

Have you used it yet?

The only reason I'm thinking about the £35 odd pressure washer is that I could get that and a CAI ... haha.

That one looks fine, I assume you can put some wash in the detergant bottle as a "pre-wash"?

The Aldi offers have started and they have there washer which is a rebadged Karcher quite cheap - there is a thread on here about it.

I have used this washer to clean the aptio and my car twice, i think it does the job perfectly. But i guess it depends on what yr used to.

I think I might get that rebadged karcher for £80.

I have no idea what spec is required for washing a car to be honest though.

Is 90bar enough? I have no idea :D

I to have no idea, I think that if you have never used a pressure washer before it will be great. All i had before was a normal hose and a watering can.

To me for £30 you cant go wrong, unless the man guarantee is different i would save my cash and buy a cheaper one.

Just my opinion though

Got the pressure washer from aldi in the end after the good comments on Detailing world about it.

£80 with 3 years warranty... idea!

Bought the same unit a few mins ago mate.............let's hope it's as good as they say on DW..........

I actually got a b&q brand machine for just under 50 notes and so far am pleased with it

I checked out the karcher ones but it appeared you had to buy a 100 quid model and extra attachments to get the equivalent spec. Although karcher do a small machine for 40 something the pressure seemed considerably below the b&q model...70 bar as opposed to 110 bar

Of course you need to make sure you have decnt water mains pressure for these too...

What snow foam would you all rcommend? I've used some cheap tesco car shampoo only so far because it seems to get through the stuff so quickly!

I currently purchase this and have had nothing but good results from it:

Elite Car Care - Elite Snow Foam 5 Litre

You can however source this from other detailing suppliers but I find the service and price at Elite very competitive........

Baker, have you tried the foam lance with the washer from aldi yet? I'm going to get one soon but want to know that it fits on ok.

I've used the pressure washer twice now, the pattern seems a little odd but it does the trick fine :D
