Did my exhaust in 2 steps - decat, followed by straight through pipe (no back box).

Decat gets my vote....

De cat, no point in doing things by halves , (as a bonus the exhaust smells like a no 42 bus from the 70's )

Either is better than standard.

Decat WILL likely give a little more power and a quicker spool but may also run away with the tiny, tiddly turbo and blow its blades off or snap it into bits. To be fair, this can happen anyway.

Do you have a remap, is it soft or aggressive?

If you have a hybrid turbo, decat all the way as it's big enough to look after itself better and will still spool up and be lag free.

I've had no problems with the decat on mine. Spools up quicker and sounds a bit louder.

Bad for any turbo with the wrong mapping, a spikey map coupled with a de-cat will kill any turbo

Hope i have a good map, decat on my old hdi was such an improvement with a remap, lasted for 40k without trouble, but was obviously a stronger turbo than the fabia one

neither just leave it

so if i de cat with a "Dragon box" will i damage the turbo or is the box not "aggresive" enough to do any damage?

i have a sports cat on my blueflame system it aint too bad asked whilst the car was at jabba for a remap wether it is worth de catting the car they said not to bother unless i upgrade the turbo due to the fact the standard turbos like to spike with them on

i went down the option of the milltek system turbo back with sports cat, as was advised against decat at jabba
