cheers guys

Welcome to my world:D

Give it a damned good waxing, Weather permitting, I use AutoGlym.

Do a search 100's of different products available.

Scotch Guard your seats, This helps.

As for the dash, I just run over mine with a damp synthetic chamois

cheers mike . what would you suggest for alloys? since im plannin on balck ones what would u suggest for them, too.lol

Polish with SRP (autoglym)

Wax with 2 coats of Collinite 476S, Will last for ages :)

Will still need washed loads though as its black and the dust/dirt shows up easy on it, however once clean theres not a smarter car than a black one

That's why I've got Silver! ;) Still have to wash it every 2 day's though :o

After washing/drying, 'Autoglm Super Resin Polish', 'Chemical Guys Factory Sealant', then 2 applications of 'Collininte 476s'.

I use 'Armor All' Protectant for black vinyl on the inside. As for wheels, 'ASP', 'CG Factory Sealant' followed by Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant.

The man speaks wise words.

Collinite will last you ages if you get a tin

have a look over on the detailing forum, plenty of info over there on car care, but i must warn you,its very addictive and will cost you money.

Do you guys polish by hand? With the SRP I mean - polishing isn't the same as waxing is it? Would I get a decent finish just whacking the collinite on after washing?

No polishing is different to waxing.

If your doing it by hand it depends on how far you want to go really.

SRP is fine by hand and that would be the polish.

EGP (Extra Gloss Protection) would then be the wax if you wanted to keep with the Autoglym stuff

I do it by hand. Main thing is to finish with vertical/horizontal motions to prevent 'swirling'.

The SRP has micro-fillers in and gives the glossy shine. Wax on top gives durability. You can add a 'sealant' after the polish and before the wax.

I've Supagarded my wheels, supagard - Wheels

Autoglym also do an alloy wheel protector.

Autoglym - car cleaning products, car care products, car valeting, car detailing

This creates a barrier to stop brake dust baking on. Cleans up using a soapy sponge.

Again there's lots of different products and it all comes down to personal preference.

I've LifeShined my alloys after using super resin polish & that combination takes some beating! A quick spray with Autoglym acid free whell cleaner for 30 secs & then i just jet them down with my Kranzle pressure washer! Every couple of months i'll be washing them by hand or if i see anything on them that doesn't wanna come off but have found that i hardly have to touch the wheels now! ;)

i just use autoglymm stuff on my black magic.

Smart cookie, have used all manor of things over the years but have still to find a better "range" of car cleaning products in my opinion! On the car wash side of things though, any car shampoo with a neutral ph value will be safe to use, especially on a black car as although you may think you are doing the right thing, using the wrong shampoo will significantly increase the ageing process of the paintwork & you will find the colour quite dull & lacking depth & reflection! On black/dark cars i'd recommend (fanatics only) a pure water system as it will half the time you spend cleaning it & eliminate chamois water marks & enable washing even on hot days!!!!!
