45 mins to go to live first qualies. Hope it's a good season ............ no traction control, less politicking, more racing

That last qualifying session was weird. I think the big guns were testing tyre and long running strategies. I hope so!!!

You mean the final saturday morning practice?

Yes, very odd. Guess you're right about the bigboys, although theITVF1 website says many of them got 'blocked' in traffic and frustrated as well in the final burst of laps.

BMWs down in the 1.25s tho. Track must be rubbering up!!

I was watching the times during the hour and it looked like the big boys were almost never really on the pace. very odd. still only 5 mins to TV Prog start

Yeaaaa, bring it on. Sleep will have to fit round the coverage timings this weekend .............. have to get me priorities right :-)

Sleep and work will have to fit for me.

Not good. At least I don't have to work weekends!! Still, you've got your lovely new BMW to whisk you to work and back now. You seem to like it ......... don't let the Beemer bashers get to you

We I've had a couple of hours kip.

Here we go again

Just time to watch this then it's off for a 200m drive down to the Weston meet.

What is it with the Green Honda shorts!!

Think the Sony sponsership is going to wind me up aswell.

Best qually session since the good old days when everyone was going round at the same time. This 3 part thing is poo. But the cars look fantastic, snapping and biting, great to watch and boy can Hammy drive. I love it so far. At last the regs are getting better. Now let them have slicks and turbos and we will have proper racing again. Banning traction control is brilliant, how on earth did they think of it:rolleyes:……………………… after all these years of us shouting to get rid of it.

Yep, loving it too. No traction control means the cars sound so much better as well, plus a few tyres complaining on the soundtrack ......... much more like it

This is great. Shame about Jenson, but come on Hammy

time for a weeee break before the final session

Well done Hamilton

Brilliant! The BMWs are a bit surprising though, which is a shame as as I would rather Williams were the ‘surprising’ team.

Who think there will be a crash at the first couple of corners due to the cars new found instability.

Very early days but, boy, what a promising start! Well worth staying up for. Could be quite a few 'upsets' in store if this was anything to go by ...... hammy and jenson should both prosper tho' this season, if they can just put a decent car under jens. Looking good for the real drivers this year, whoo hoo

Just got in, & heard the grid:D:D:D:D.

Think work tonight/tomorrow will involve a little bit of tv testing;) arround 03.30ish:rofl::rofl:

Anyone else staying up to watch the GP? Although I might try and get an hour or twos sleep before it starts

What a race!!!!!! I won’t spoil it in case anyone hasn’t seen it yet, but what a spectacle. Perhaps not a huge amount of overtaking (more than most years though), but masses of mistakes without the driver aids, real car control and lots of possible outcomes for the race. Great entertainment, action right to the end and nobody got badly hurt.

The TV coverage was pretty ropey in places

Watched most of it at work. Just got in to see the podiun celebrations, Ron Dennis looked Like the cat that got the cream:thumbup::thumbup:

Like the quote from DC, wonder if they will sell tickets to that one:rolleyes:

By the way, Morning Lady E. Or can I call you Amanda now we've met;)

God yes! I was rolling about at that one, and the suprised squeak from James Allen as he said it

 That was moment of the race for me too. Quite a decent watch on the whole. Hard luck Kimi. Go Lewis.

It asked to identify which corner belonged to Silverstone. I think the answer to that question was Stowe.
