Looks like you had fun, quite a bit there you have taken off that you dont need to but im sure you know that now having done the job, 2nd time is allways easier.

My top time for a Fabia/PD turbo swap is 45mins, but thats with a ramp and air tools and a blatant disregard for human safety.

so how does it run then...... i mean is the car's ecu "untouched" at the moment with all the parts stuck on ?

if that makes sence

Yer the drive shaft was a mistake, but i was orginally planning to take the turbo from underneath. Had to wait for some overnight spline bolts and locking washers for them then.... d'oh

I think i could get away without taking the battery off next time and the air box. just the cold air feed to get to the oil feed pipe.

We will see on friday how long it takes second time round ;)

45mins  you must have been flying around the workshop! Good work  whats the book time on a turbo swap? 2.5 hours?

My claim to fame is a saxo headunit from start to finish in 37 seconds  to think some places charge £39.99 for the job ;);)

Im soo bl00dy jealous! I hate ur gutts! lol:D

Not quite standard software, were on the map that made 170bhp at awesome last time.

Its running fine, its a little laggy, but pulls well, we have a hill near my house on a private piece of land, and if i hit the bottom corner at 60 i can usually hit 80 by the top, we hit 90 last night  and i dont think i was going as fast into the bottom corner too.

It will now be putting too mcuh air in as there is zero smoke, before it smoked its head off as some have seen ;) so when the fueling is mapped to suit it should be a monster.

Driving off boost now until its mapped, as i dont know what happens to a pd engine when they are run lean  and wouldnt like to cause any damage ;)

I know i am a handsome devil arnt i .....

I am actually quite worried now, i want the mapping to go as smooth as poss.

My main fears now are, A) the clutch cant cope and B) the intercooler cant cope

The clutch wouldnt be a problem, as like shifty i could just get the paddle clutch and retain the pressure plate i have atm. but the cooler might be expensive again.

If i ever see you at a meet/ show your welcome a passenger ride

:D

so do the sach paddle clutchs taken more than the sachs organic???

they will handle more torque yes, but you loose a slight bit of peddle feel. More of an on/off motion with a paddle, where as the organic is oem feel

OMG, I seriously HAVE to have a go in your car now. :D :D :D

Bring on the CTR's ;)

Up had incentive, boss said I could have the hybrid turbo off our demo golf as it was going back if I stayed late after work and swapped it over. So two got done in 45mins, a workmate did the Golf and i did my Fabia.
