Ok, so not everyones first choice in wax...but was just in halfrauds, and picked up Megs NXT Tech wax for £5 as the packaging was damaged.

Will be good to use as a comparison if nothing else at that price.

For £5 it's a bargain mate, I have about 3 bottles of this stuff and used it at the beginning, it's OK but not very durable and with the release of Megs Next Gen Wax 2.0 that has better durability.........

Yeah, if i was being fussy i would've hung out for the Tech 2.

But it was down from £15.99 so cant sniff at it.

But until i get all my other products together it'll do for the moment...or i'll use it on my mums car just to use it up.

I used the Tech Wax 2 when I was out in the US visiting my parents and it is more durable than the Tech Wax but since I have been back from the US I haven't used either of the Tech Wax's since, should use them up really.......

I've read that Tech has a small amount of fillers in it...

MIght just be good to use straight after a wash/clay to see what happens.

It's all going to be stripped when it gets done properly anyway...so quite interested in playing about.

i still dont understand any of this

Oh Colin... what we gonna do with you. :)

Bascially, if it's dry tomorrow..your wee Fabia might be clean by tomorrow afternoon.

NXT is just a quick solution to get a teeny bit shine out of it, not getting stuck into it too much until i have all the paint fixed as it would just be a waste of time just now.

In the meantime there's a small gathering of parts starting in my garage for the great transformation.

You bought a bucket to wash the Octy with yet ?? :P

Well all my products turned up.

I ordered a new bucket with Grit Gaurd (just need to find somewhere to buy another gaurd on its own).

Sheepskin Washmitt, Waffle weave drying towel, Collonite 915 detailing kit, Megs Wheel Brightener and some Megs Quick Clay.

So far thats set me back about £100 with delivery, the Wife wasn't impressed as this car was supposed to save me money.

Is there anything else I should look at getting?

I'm working for the next 4 days and no doubt it will rain when I'm off

Well i thought i'd give the NXT a bash over the weekend seeing as it was dry.

Came up not too bad to be honest, considering i only washed it and applied the nxt, no clay, other polish etc.

Was just bored more than anything.

Here's how the water sat after a wash...basically didn't do anything.

After nxt

And of course the beading shots for the obsessed ;)

Not too shabby a result for it's first quickie.

Am really looking forward to the results once i've got all my products together and done it properly. :)

The dent catches the light well, but pray tell I thought you bough ColG's old car

Dent will be sorted when the new wing is on. :)

Hence why i'm not going too far with the polsihing, as the front bumper will be getting fixed, along with other parts before i spend any decent time cleaning it up. :)

I tell you what, that looks very good bearing in mind the previous owners regime (sorry Col) for not a lot of effort.

Not sure if I missed it but was that by hand or G220?

  • Author

Cheers. :)

It was done by hand, and was only a quick job bearing in mind it's going to get tackled more in depth.

Was really just trying out the NXT. :D

There was no claying involved or anything, just a wash n' dry, then one application of the NXT.

Dirt must have kept it clean underneath then
