Boost controller

Featured Replies

Has anybody out there had a 'boost controller' fitted along with their remap at Jabbasport? If yes, have you found it reliable and does it come in useful?

Many thanks

Mark

1) Not yet 2) Hope so for servicing

I saw a post about this on another forum (seatcupra.net I think). The boost controller was a variable potentiometer (a twiddly knob) on a little panel attached under the dash. This would tend to draw attention to the modification rather than conceal it. Of course if you put it somewhere out of sight so the dealer didn't notice it (you hope) it would become useless as a control once on the move. Don't know about reliability and no, I haven't got one.

Read something about once its fitted you can remove it for services, in about a minute, then plug back in afterwards

Ah well that would be OK then - must have missed that bit :D

I put in an Apexi AVC-R. Runs great but I have a drive by cable throttle body (150hp AGU engine). I've heard there's issues with the DBW throttle bodies (ECU closes throttle on you when boost goes too high). I have a writeup of the install for anyone interested on vortex. Just search for AGU and you'll find my postings under the same name.

The regular K03 (150hp engines) can do 1.2 bar and that's a lot of fun. The torque feels awesome, but
