The beeps are a late addition to the Octavia, you can VAG-COM lock and unlock beeps if desired.

Ive just re enabled mine after reading a recent thread where a vag com guy said with it disabled the safety wotsit on the car wont work properly:eek: and someone else mentioned it invalidating your car insurance.

What safety wotsit?

Is that the official Skoda designation for it? :D

Seatbelt pre-tensioner perhaps?

you can turn the alarm chirp off with maxidot I believe.

Wouldn't that depend on the sensor being disconnected instead of the bongs only being turned off via VAG-COM?

I think thats only the lock chirp, you can enable the double unlock chrip with VAG-COM

Mine chirps on lock and unlock.

Both our MY08's didn't, they just chirped on lock only, the maxidot would only toggle the lock chirp. I had to enable the double unlock chirp with the laptop.

Was just the fact that i noticed the button on the drivers side door pillar to disable the interior monitoring. Definately did not have that on my 07 plate vRS.

I was told by the dealer that that couldn't be disabled.

That button is used to disable the interior sensors when you lock the car and pop to the shops and a) leave the kids in the back B) leave the dog in the boot or c) leave the wife doing her nails! ;)

Been mentioned before, can easily be enabled/disabled with VagCom

Shown here and there are a few other things you can do
