Superchips Bluefin

Featured Replies

Done a bit of overtime this last few weeks and tis burning a hole in my pocket , just wondering if i should get the octy blue-finned . . .

anyone on here had it done and does it make a bit difference ? just dont wanna waste £499

I would imagine you'll have a whisker over 200 hp and a nice dollop of torque, so yes you'll notice it.

IIRC if you order from JKM they will throw in a free Green Cotton Filter

Got the Bluefin on my petrol vRS and it made a massive difference so as said above, im sure it will make a diffrence to the diesel too. Remember, Superchips offer a 7 day no quibble money back if your not happy.

ATB, Jon.

Also IIRC don't Superchips underwrite the Manufacturer's Warranty in the event of any 'problems' that the manufacturer will not accept as a Warranty Claim. That's got to be worth £100 or so within the price. Plus, also IIRC, with the Bluefin you can revert back to OEM mapping at anytime.

VRS195 has had an ordinary Superchips remap and has a RR verified 203bhp and 310 ft lb of torque. Good enough?

No, they dont offer this anymore; kind or makes me wonder why. :o

Hmm; just checked their website (not that I doubted you) and yup, they only do a usual 'money back if not satisfied' and 'guarantee on the superchip'.

Makes me wonder too why they would appear to have dropped the 'in lieu Manufacturer Warranty'. I'd always thought it would be worth paying that little bit more (than other remaps) for 'peace of mind'.

Now that's a bit of a deal breaker for me :( Would like to know why they've dropped this...

You'd be better saving your cash for hard times ahead with the housing market etc. :)

I did it

Ordered my bluefin device today, read Keiths comment on the pricedrop and the greenfilter that is included. (already have a green filter, but so I will have the oportunity to clean one and drive the other).

Had contact with Kate last week, but she told me Keith was on holiday (to run after his luggage, as Ive read today :)). She would forward the message to him.

But I was faster, visited their website and found out, that the 170PD was listed.

So I didnt hesitate and ordered online.

I will write down my comments on the improvement here on this forum.

Will do a couple of messurements before and after (on the autobahn, donnot have the time to visit a RR).

Hope my paricular filter will cope with it

Cheers

I got a Bluefin brouchure throught the other day, and the statement about covering items that would be void of manufactures cover was still in there. Might be worth double checking with them

Hi Guys,

I saw the questions on the Superchips warrantee above and just thought that id let you know what we as authorised distributors have been told on this.

Basically circumstances have happened beyond Superchips control and they have lost the facility to offer the supplimentry warranty alongside the manufucatures warranty, with their software and Bluefins etc.

Superchips initially told the dealer network that they where working to get another insurance company & underwriter in place to allow them to continue offering this cover.

I guess this could not happen for what ever reason and Superchips have taken the opportunity to assess their position in the market place in the light of the current adverse economic climate and hence the recent price changes that have come into effect from April 1st 2008.

If I find out anything more I will let you know.

Kind Regards

Keith

Wrote down my first experiences with the bluefin in the JKM forum.

I'd be interested to know what the Bluefin does to your fuel economy.

I have the 170 Vrs Diesel Estate.

Cant say much to my fueleconomy yet. Only did 150km up to now. And those 150km were more or less with nothing else than full throttle.

What I saw already, is that at 120-130 km/h my instant economy dropped by approx 1 liter.

At full throttle the engine uses 19 instead of 17 liters in 6th.

Hello,

after I tried to install my bluefin soft to my 1.9TDI...my car stoped...I can't to start the engine...the immobilised is active...and I can't to reverse to the original soft....I have a lot of problem with a bluefin module. Before a problem to download a modified soft then this...now I have to call my dealer to bring my car at home....
