mounting bracket bolts

Featured Replies

hi people. thanx for all ur advise regarding my brake threads, ESPECIALLY BODGE:finger:, u wre right about the sensor clip, what a chuffing thing to get off lol. just 1 last question tho. could any1 tell me what the right torque wrench setting is for the mounting bracket bolts, im sure my haynes manual is wrong. thanx for listening, any help is much appreciated.

p.s have the vrs got fn3 calipers?

haha yeah broke my clip on saturday too! luckily it was on the pad end so not a problem.

I torqued everything as per the Haynes manual. Think I did the front slide bolts to 21lb.ft.

I didnt remove the mounting bracket, as I don't have a bloody 18mm spanner or socket!

Why is everything on the front brakes a stupid size!! 7mm allen key and a 18mm spanner, both very rare items in a standard tool box. Gah

Anyway.... yeah I trust the torques in Haynes. I've done 300miles since Saturday and they haven't fallen off yet....

I had to break the pad end of the clip when changing the front pads on mine too.

once again bodge "TOP MAN" THANX. dont u think this is quite a lot of pressure tho(mounting bracket) ???

yeah i guess it does seem alot compared to the rears!

but the bolts are big enough to take it, and imagine how massive the forces are on that bracket when your braking hard from 150mph!!

i trust it, but i'm sure someone else will confirm....
