Stream MP3 what's your sound settings?

Featured Replies

I've had my car nearly 3 weeks and, as has been discussed on here before, the sound has been bugging me from the Stream MP3 unit. Normally my ears are tuned to like sweet natural sounds with no boom tizz from messing with the sound settings or loudness options.

However, I've read on here that others have found the sound 'lacking' in something and forced the use of the sound adjustment to try and improve things.

I currently have mine set at

Treble -2

Midrange -3

Bass -2

Balance -3 (over to the n/s to get a more central image)

The above calms the in your face tweeter for me but what settings have you choosen to listen to? Anyone got any other settings for me to try?

:)

After much playing settled on -2,0,2 Works best on CD's. The radio amp doesn't seem as strong or deep as the superb's was. i have loudness on as well and gala set to 9.

sound is ok, as good as a golf or focus, but not an audi

Something like -3, -1 +3 with loudness on and gala to 5. Balance and fade 0, 0

I always set the fade slightly to the rear, as it seems to give me a more rounded sound as I think set at 0 sounds too front heavy

I think I set mine to

Treble -6

Mid -4

Bass +5

Balance +2 on the left

Fader 0

It still sounds pretty atrocious though, I would love to have words with the guy who thought putting a tweeter almost at ear level and pointing it towards you a good idea:rolleyes:

Thanks for input....it sounds like a couple of you like a heavy bass sound:) I'll give them a try though.

I had a Leon FR before and did replace the front speakers. However, first I did find that the crossover resistor thing on the tweeter was perhaps set a little high. I put a dedicated 2 way crossover in as you would get in a component set and it seemed to improve the standard sound, so I might give that a go.

Mine:

Treble +2

Mid +6

Bass +2

Loudness on.

Gives a nice crisp midrange, which compensate for the lack of midrange speaker. It might just be a little heavy in the lower range, but bass disapears easily at motorwayspeed.

Treble; -1

Midrange; -7

Bass; +9

Loud; ON

Gala; 9

But then i like my Bass... haha

Just checked again

Treble; -3

Midrange; +1

Bass; +3

Loud; on

Balance; 0

Fade: 1 (rear)

I think a lot depends on where your seat position is as to what settings you need.

I use:

Treble +6

Mid +4

Treble +5

Fade/Balance 0

and Loud off

I mainly listen to my ipod through the connection in the arm rest. The rest of the time it is FM radio. The stereo sounds significantly better than my old Mk 1 and my wifes Honda Civic (even though I have replaced the front speakers and put tweeters in for her).

-4-4+4 on the stream mp3
