New BMW 7 Series, Was this caused by idrive

Featured Replies

Came across this, I wonder if the driver was using the iDrive to tune the radio in or something.

Looks like someone drove into the back of him in a lorry

or had he just suffered from bmw driver frustration, (as they do when we all overtake) and ran out of talent at the next bend?

I looked at it again , and there wasn't enough damage at the back for it to have been rear ended. The crease down the rear door is probably where it went sideways into a lamp post so it would have been distraction as per Manny's theory , or too much right foot and a big oversteer

Perhaps they thought they could steer it with the iDrive... ;)

Well, it is called iDrive... but clearly it doesn't :D.

But now, really, Q - you know the i stands for interactive. So that involves the driver telling the car how to drive first. Clearly he didn't.

have driven one.... anyone who says i drive is crap wants to try it... its wicked!

Paul, you're an IT boffin, so no wonder. Could you arrange a 7-series for Mrs Dutch? She is a prime and self-admitted example of the linear thought conducted by the weaker sex. Ideally, she'd have a separate button for every function...

Or is BMW right in designing the car for men only? As if a woman will ever sit behind the wheel of a 7-series... (Ladies, prove me wrong! :D )
