Autoglym High Def Wax on my vRS

Featured Replies

Well having had the car (Fabia vRS ib Black Magic) 3 months it was due the first big clean by me of the year. When I bought it the car had a light mop and Autoglym Lifeshine applied and I'd given it a few washes since then and one coat of AG Aqua Wax at Easter.

I'd been wanting to try some of the other products I had recently bought including the AG Extra Gloss Protection and then the new AG High Definition Wax. Also there was a couple of scratches to get rid of that had found there way onto the car (dont you just hate people that walk past your car with bags and things and scratch it!).

Luckily I had arranged to be indoors for this as it was pouring with rain yesterday - blimey did I get wet washing the car, lucky it wasn't too dirty so was quite quick.

Wash

Pressure wash off (no snow foam as was raining)

2 bucket method wash

AG Shampoo

AG Aqua Dry + microfibre

Wheels cleaned with AG Acid Free Wheel Cleaner

I was at my local AG approved valeters premises so was great to have the car indoors and having the lights helped big time!

Scratches

We mopped them out with the pc and some Wurth Swirl remover and also went over the whole bonnet lightly.

AG Extra Gloss Protection

Applied to the whole car and left for about 1 hour to do its thing. Then buffed off. Also applied this to the wheels.

Interior

Whilst the EGP was drying I hoovered and dusted with an MF the interior and cleaned the inside glass with AG Fast Glass. Air vents dusted out with a brush.

Wax

This was the first time I've tired the new Autoglym High Def Wax. Found it quite hard work to put on as you have to work it in/onto the car. Went all over the car. Before buffing I buffed the EGP off the wheels.

Buffing the wax off was quite easy. Once over the car with a terry towel and then then a final buff off with a MF cloth.

Windows

All cleaned with AG Fast Glass.

Tyres

Dressed with Megs Endurance Gloss

Exhaust

Cleaned with Brasso - works a treat!

Some 7 hours later here are the results!! Pretty happy with this, just a shame it was still raining on the way home. Just interested to see how this holds up now and how the beading is. Next time I wash I may add another layer of wax. Pretty pleased with my photos too and check out my reflection in the car!

First proper photos since adding the rallyflapz and 30% window tints (B pillar back).

Superb effort!!!! AG rules....... imo of course!

love the rear quarter close up! You can do mine after smstext's :D

looks good mate would be good to know how long the protection lasts though

Thats amazing mate, one suggestion though you need some Diadem bulbs to go in your indicators to get rid of that orange glow

Wow that looks amazing mate, well worth the effort. I wish i was able to keep my car shining like that.

Looks really good

Great pictures there mate, clearly know how to take good pics?

Great advertisement for AG as well................any correction pictures?

Nice pics, and surprised that I like the flaps too

Great results. :)

What flaps are they ?

Great results. :)

What flaps are they ?

These I think

Could be tempted with them in black.

I've got spacers on the back of mine anyway, so they would'nt look too out of place.

Thanks, glad you like the results. Wasn't really any correction to do other than mop out a few scratches and a quick mop over the bonnet. The car had been done 3 months ago so wasn't really needed.

Quite into my photography too, and building up a selection of work on my website: Photography by Ryan David: Welcome If any opportunities arise, I'd be happy to shoot peoples cars or something (meets/details etc). :)

Sounds good. Do you have any more details/links? Thanks.

Looks like a good result

Would be interested to see some outdoor shots too, and also post back here on how durable the High Def is. Seconded on the clear indicator bulbs too :)

Will try and get some outside shots at some point, but the car will need washing first as its been rained on since! Will let you know how it wears but might put another coat of wax on at some point.
