Fabia Servicing Costs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Getting my fabia serviced and mot'd by Skoda in the next month and just wondered if £255 for annual service and mot is a good price.

Car is a 05 plate fabia.

Sounds a lot to me. They doing anything aside from the usual fluids and filters?

Sounds a good price if you ask me. MOT these days are a good £40+

So really your talking £200 for oil, filters and labour (Plus the stamp in your book)

My local garage will to that for less than £80

And provide everything- MOT, Oil, filters and labour. WOW

Do you repay him with favours? haha

That sounds a lot i have just had my 30k serviec done at my local skoda garrage and it cost £155 every thing included (no MOT) they even washed my car for me. an MOT should cost in the region of £50 so 255 seems a lot.

It's probably not that far off for an annual service + MOT at a dealership. You caould probably get it done for about half that at an indie, as has already been said. My wife had hers done at the local indie the other month, and paid about £180 for service, MOT and new pads / linings all-round, so would probably have been about £120-130 if the brakes hadn't needed doing...

The MOT is going to cost me about £50.50 plus £200 for the annual service, I thought it was a bit pricy but never having a car serviced at a franchised dealer before was not so sure.

Myself and SWMBO will go halfers on the service so in reality will only cost me £125 from my own pocket.

That doesn't seem too bad, as with my last car (Fabia 1.4MPI) my 40k service was £260 and £60 for brakefluid change, from a Skoda dealership here in Cardiff.

No... That's why High Street Garages are a rip off.

LHT Skoda in Swansea prices:

Normal service start from

£180.73 for a 10k mile service

£310.00 for a 40k service

£50.84 for a brake fluid change

£40k plus timing belt change £610.00.

All prices inc of vat and parts.

at the most what do you think will need changed at 40k service, by the time I get car serviced will be about 37200 miles on the clock

I'm guessing you're taking it to Chathams?

I phoned around different dealers when I had my Octy and found them quite expensive.

I ended up going to Newmarket and it saved my around £100 but it was for an annual plus brake fluid and cambelt.

You could also try an independant like Star Performance or Hunters of Linlithgow. I've used Hunters a few times and found the very helpful and cheap.

Aye it's booked into chathams for June, spoke to the Helpful Grace.

I think once the warrenty expires then I will be taking it to a place like Star or SWMBO's brothers autocentre in fife.

Those prices quoted above (£180 @ 10k) seems about right to me. Servicing seems to have increase by ~50% the last 3 years. I have just had my 07 VRs LTD Fabia serviced and it cost £180. The same service on my 04 VRs Fabia was £120. Now, that's inflation for you.

I've just had a 20000 mile service, cam belt change, car 4years old! brake fluid and mot for £629.

OUCH

I got my uncle to do my vrs service and mot for 120. Only thing I had to do is reset the service interval. Went okay apart from it didn't ask for the next interval. Just took the spanner off?

anyone who thinks they can get a decent service done for £80 is mental.

just the longlife quantum oil for mine alone was £68, and genuine vag diesel filter £25.

Fabia VRS's don't need longlife and the fuel filter is done at the 40k service which would cost more.
