New bulbs- before and after pics

Featured Replies

Dipped beam on the wifes vRS went the other say so I got some Osram Nightbreakers to replace them with. They came with free Philips bluevision sidelights (from Powerbulbs) so I thought I may as well take some pics to show how much whiter the new bulbs are.

So with one side done, the sidelights show a massive difference;

Dipped beam isn't so much of a difference but still noticable;

Difference in the dipped beam is more noticable in these photos;

A worthwhile difference I think.

Cool!

What's the difference like out on road?

they just make my REAL xenons look cheap :(

big diference though

I got some Phillips X-Treme Power bulbs (with free bluevision sidelights) from them about two months ago and have to agree they're a vast improvement over the normal bulbs. :thumbup:

I wouldn't say there's much increase in distance but the road that is illuminated is a lot clearer. It's a cleaner light and I've found my eyes are a lot less tired when driving at night.

I thought the sidelights might be a bit ch@vvy but they're not at all.

Huge difference on the side light !

May consider these.

PM on it's way Matt. :)

I did this very same upgrade to mine a few weeks back.

Big difference on dip, can see a lot more road and dont need full beam as often.

Less of a difference to full beam I found.

Nice blueness with the sidelights too.

Dont forget your discount code (might just be for freedom members)

Great stuff!

We have Xenons on our car which are superb but would like to do this for the side lights- where did you chaps get them from please? Also, is it a big job?

Thanks!

Jon :)

Its not a big job Jon....

Even for someone with your DIY skills!!

Now that is blooming charming!!!!!! ;)

(Ok, I am pretty awful!) :)

To be fair they can be a bit tight especially with the good old xenons....

If stuck you know where i am, kill two birds with one stone etc.!!

looks really good might any direct links to these please also are they easy to swop over or fiddly? many thanks

Looks good, i did the same shortly after getting my vRS makes a big difference.

The originals are more yellow and dull looking, whereas the upgrade makes them white.

Fitted a set of Philips X-treme bulbs with free blue-effect sidelights today - took all of 2 minutes a side. Dead Easy!

cheers everyone for the info so which is the better one to have might be investing shortyl looks so much nicer imao

No real difference at all between the Nightbreakers and the X-Tremes, I phoned Powerbulbs up and asked them the same question, he said none, it's down to personal preference.

cheers mate which ones should i exactly get if i am ordering the nightbreakers also mate how do i get the freedom discount? cheers many thanks

Less of a difference to full beam I found.

Am I right in thinking you'd need to upgrade the H3 bulbs to get brighter full beam...? :)

Tempted to order a set but will hold off for now, definately on the list of upgrades. Cheers for the review though, makes a lot of difference.
