No , this one might actually be good :D

I didn't say if the original class was good or bad ! :P

I like this. Very nice.

I loved the original Capri.

I don't like this one at all. :(

The first car I had that was modded was a MK3 Capri 2.0S

In Stratto Silver Mmmmm

I loved that car

I think that one looks alot like a Hyundi

Not bad though....

Do you think Bodie and Doyle would have one now?

Who are they ?

Is this an age thing ? :P

Bodie & Doyle (The Professionals) made the original Capri cool! It's been on one of ITV's freeview channels recently.

The back end has more than a passing similarity to the Volvo C30

The front has aspects of the Fiesta concept crossed with the Mondeo

How can they sully the name of the beloved Capri with that piece of automotive trash?

Having owned seven variants of the original Capri, I'm quite protective of the name and all that surrounds it (apart from the Del Boy era)and don't think that's good enough to wear the badge. Damn PR people, using an emotive name for a pimped up semi-designed euro box that will never stir the soul as the original did.

I think I need more coffee.....:o

I thought Ford tried to revive the Capri with the Probe. This new Capri looks to mainstream, it needs to look different/stand out

Thats a lovely photoshop by AE :P

Side vents from an s-max, front end looks like a a mix of the new fiesta and the facelift focus...

Auto Express reccon it will be based on a Focus shassis with the most common engine being sold 2.5l Turbo from the Focus. So whats the point in this? why not just buy a Focus ST

Hmm...have to agree.

No different from a 3dr Focus really.

Unless it's a lot lighter, which i cant see.

RWD would make it nice though if they chose that route.

The line between a coupe and a 3dr hatchback is quite blurred... The same statement also applies to the Golf GTi and the forthcoming Scirocco.

Still I've no doubt someone will buy them.

I loved the orginal capri, I would have been about 3 or 4 when they ended production but ford do need a sports injection in to the range, as a ex ford owner I'm not convinced ford having been making the most stylish of cases, just one of the reasons why I bought a fabia over the focus.

It's got the profile of a Braera or that silly Volvo hatch

Front looks good ok.

I'd take the old Capri though - Retro chic.

What show did it appear in?

If it's anything like the old Capri, they'll produce a handful for 2.5Ts for the press fleet and then the majority of the ones they sell will be 1.6s... :thumbdwn:

Not good.

Oh and ap0gee, everyone I know who ever had a Capri had at least a 2.0l, most of them actually had the 3.0l Essex or the 2.8l Cologne versions, and one lucky bar steward actually had an RS3100.

I passed a cracking 3.0S on the Edinburgh Bypass the other day.

Was gorgeous.

Not good.

Ah, see I'm maybe showing my (lack of ;) ) age here - the only Capri I really remember was the Laser...

the brooklands was very nice, think that was the last of them was it not?

As an ex Opel Manta owner, I feel obliged to say that the Ford Crapi (no, that isn't a spelling mistake) was always number two in terms of styling, performance and general hairy-chested-ness. :)

But then...i think anyone with a bit of sense would take a Manta 400 over a Capri 280 :D

A Capri that goes round corners is just not a Capri.

I like the look of it though, a hint of Audi and BMW 1 series.
