Well Rossi needed to win this one & guess what.....................he did!!

Pedrosa did his best to stay with Rossi, but the last 5 laps Rossi put in his best times.

Stoner had a lonesome ride in third position but I'm surprised he couldn't keep up with Rossi & Pedrosa earlier on in the race.

A lot of people out braking themselves at the hairpin.

Well done to Lorenso finishing 4th with 2 knackered ankles - brave man!

Jeremy Burgess mentioned after the race that they've found a way to make the Bridgestone work with the Yamaha. Lets hope he can keep this up!!

With the way Pedrosa is riding at the minute and when Lorenzo (AMAZING ride from him) is fit again, it should be a pretty amazing season!!

As much as it hurts, I have to agree that it was a class ride from the shirtlifter, especially when he upped the pace a few laps from the finish:thumbup:

C'mon Lance. You dont forget where the Top step of the Podium is if you have been to said 'Top Step' 63 times in Moto GP/500cc

14 times in 250cc AND 12 times in 125cc!!

The guy could walk to every Top Step at every round with his eyes shut, blind folded and his eye lids super glued together!!

Oh, and remember, he HAS been World Champion 7 times!!!

Well looks like they have sorted some of the problems out ay Yamaha, the commentators kept saying that Pedrosa had a bit in reserve & was biding his time, hmm think they got that a bit wrong:rofl: 4 second gap in 5 laps at the end of the race is vintage Doctor :D. Was very surprised at Stoners lack of pace although post race interview he blamed poor advice on tyres :eek: Gritty ride by Lorenzo. Colin Edwards had a much better race this time, seemed to have the pace to keep up but made a couple of mistakes:(. They all seemed to have trouble with their breaking points at first due to having a tail wind down the straight.

Which channel were you watching it on? They pointed out on Eurosport that very likely Pedrosa's bike started going backwards as it would have been short on fuel (the sprung valve Honda is more thirsty than the air-valve Yamaha, and he'd been going flat-out to stay with Rossi).

Nevertheless it was cracking watching Rossi turn the screw towards the end - these 800's aren't exactly slow are they! I'm no biker, but is it a case of what little they lack in straight line speed (compared to the 990's) they make up in corner speed?

I've always rated Colin but its always seemed in Moto GP that he cant keep the pace when the tyres go off??

He's ALWAYS up there in Qualifying and start of the race on sticky tyres but lacks towards the end.

Yes, the electronics would have 'tamed' the engine a bit, making it slightly less aggressive in the power delivery department to save fuel.

I've heard the Ducati's electronics measure fuel consumption over the first 5 laps and can calculate EXACTLY what 'map' to run the rest of the race on, right down to within a 1/4 of a litre so that there is no last laps stutters.

The 800's are alot quicker regarding corner speed but only slightly less regarding speed down the straights:thumbup:

Watched it on BBC1 as you don't get the adverts, I do watch it on Eurosport as I think the commentators know their racing better than Mr Cox & Co, but the adverts get annoying after a while.

As for the speed, wow, setting all time lap records with 200cc(ish) less:eek::eek:

Just after watching it, I believe from Eurosport it was also to save the engine as it was over revving, may have used the wrong gearing for high speeds due to the high tail wind which was catching the guys out, they were 12mph up on the top speeds from the day before because of it.

So either he couldn't keep up at the end, or he wasn't really capable of going quite as fast from the off then they mean? Seems to me it's 6 and half a dozen then.

The BBC commentators are right Cox, erm, well one of em is.

We used to get Eurosport and really enjoyed the commentaries - Parrish and Cox too dry / lacking. But am glad we no longer put up with adverts.

I think a lot of teams will now be extremely worried that, as Burgess said, we've now got the Bridgestones to work with the Yamaha.

Oh yeah, I actually think the combination of Charlie (ex-racer, so understands the mindset) and Stavros works pretty well.
