Thats amazing, how did they fit them in that small box ;)

Are these the Ebay ones offered in various finishes?

What you doing online then??? They won't fit themselves

:o whn i opened this thread all i could see was the top part of the first picture...... and i thought to myself "hmmm, parceline have delivered n empty box, yeah that sounds about right!"

Haha, I've got the calipers and carriers sat in the boot of the car, not confident enough to fit them myself so I've found someone who'll do it for £70! Changing discs I'm fine with but I've never bled brakes before so I'd rather not mess about!

They are off ebay, a user called MTEC.

They are OE spec but with grooves, the mintex pads are OE spec.

The brakes are manufactured by a company called Delphi Lockheed.

Total cost was... let me think now £115 including delivery I think for the discs and pads.

You paid money for that mobile?

Were they heat treated after grooving?

IIRC Delphi make a lot of OEM parts, but didn't see them ever do grooved discs.

I'm not so sure on the first part....

They are stamped on the side of them "Delphi Lockheed" then a part number

They will be OE discs that have been milled grooved in.

Usually these are not as strong as they dont get heat treated after the machining process and either warp very easy or you get cracking betwen the grooves.... grooves arnt as bad as holes though.

ive just purchased some 312mm off ebay, un painted cant wait to get them on :D

I've ordered the 312mm conversion from Golfturbo. Due shortly.

I've also bought a Gunson Eezibleed pressure bleeder.

Looking forward to getting them on and having the system pressure bled.

I've never felt that the brakes were properly bled, so here's hoping, this time, it'll be spot-on.

I too have a 312 brake set up sitting in my garage drying off.

As I have a VRS SE the Calipers are red not green, typically the only ones I could get hold of at the price I could afford right at time where green. but hey a can of caliper paint soon sorted that out and are looking lovely.

Will look stunning sat on the car even behind the standard wheels. Will not be changing those just yet if at all.

Am glad I got the part about the Mtec discs though as was looking at those, will not bother now and will look elsewhere for correctly machined/designed grooved disc's

Thanks it all helps.

Well I;m gonna run them and see what theyre like... if theyre crap standard discs are cheap enough.

Why did you buy a half drunk J2o??

Or is it half full? Then id understand. lol.

Nice looking disc's. Fit them yourself tho. Go on, Go on.

Once you have fitted brakes and you realise its easy to do mechanics, you will progress to other things.

I started as a novice fairly young and have never done a course, but would happly take an engine out and rebuild it (and for those people who are going to PM me...NO, I WONT. lol).

Trust me, it will make you smile. (and maby bleed).

Just read the thread properly... You could probably ignor my last post. lol.

But good for others to read i supose.

Did you get that grille in one piece bud? never heard back from you
