Mods since my last update:

  1. Stubby shark fin aerial fitted
  2. HEKO wind deflectors fitted
  3. LED interior lights fitted
  4. "Old School Euro" fog light tinting

Photo's to follow once I've washed it :giggle:

Further mods to do:

  1. De-Badge tail gate
  2. Fit de-chromed lower grille
  3. Apply "It's a Skoda. Honest..." & "Shark Performance" stickers

  1. Apply "It's a Skoda. Honest... stickers

Fit it as per the OEM.....so that means it should follow the curvature of the glass/heater wires....picture of my 2001 Fabia with the factory fit sticker for reference!......Also it is a more "sand blasted/etched look to it rather than silver!

Have to say I've never been a fan of that sticker.

It's like saying "We used to make crap cars, but we're better now".

Roomster looks good though. :)

I do not like unnecessary stickers on my car. The fewer the better for me :-)

The intake change. Does it apply to a 1.2TSI ?

Thanks for the pointer. I think mine will be going centre top of the rear screen.

Thank you.

I only have a few select ones on the Roomster. WWW.BRISKODA.NET on the rear quarter lights, the "good for 10BHP" Baby on Board sticker, and a soon to be replaced briskoda.net sticker. Oh, and I'm adding a Shark Performance one if i like the look of it

Intake wise.... I have no idea. I would have thought unlikely on a petrol TSI tbh.

Been fitting my LED bulbs today.

Removed all the interior bulbs and measured before ordering to ensure correct fitment. No need to worry about bulb errors as the MY2008 is not fully CANBUS

Interior first:

Front

2x W5W 5 LED bulbs

1x 4x2 LED Festoon 43mm

Rear (not pictured)

I'm not sure I'm happy with the light output from these TBH. I may source some more powerful ones for the number plate.

Bought some cheap headlight tinting film from The Kong on FleaBay a while back.

Set about tinting the fogs on the Roomster B) for a bit of a "Euro" look.

Two layers of film stuck on as the colouring was pretty pale and golden and I was after a deeper yellow tint. The finish is not as tidy as I would like as the lenses have nigh on 60k miles of grazing/pitting from stones/rock salt etc. meaning there are one or two raised areas causing small trapped air bubbles :(

If I like them and decide to keep them tinted I'll source some new lenses and re-do the job

Here's how they sat on the kitchen table:

not bad for a first attempt at stencil work B) B)

Nah, I can't see a roof box. Is it camoflaged? :giggle:

Next is to camouflage the Roomster :-)

Like the 'box Jonny,

My girls still miss our Roomy at times, as they liked the Glass Roof,

And Where did Decron go?

Thanks Mike. Decron? No idea..... the pioneer of the D.R.I.P. (Decron Roomster Improvement Programme) :giggle:

Not so sure on the fog lights but superb effort with the roof box, very different, nice work!

Might be just the photo colors, but the fog lights look quite lime yellow to me instead of gold. But I agree the roofbox is awesome.

Mobile phone upgrade time rolled around last week and since it doesn't coincide with SWMBO's I needed to fit a second phone cradle to the Roomster

Ordered up an A pillar Brodit Pro-clip from DSL Developments coupled with a charging cradle for the HTC One X.

Started by removing the stereo and surround and dash centre console. It always amazes me just how much room there is behind all of the trim panels.

IMAG0076.jpg

Also removed the R/H side airvent for access and the end of dash trim panel.

IMAG0078.jpg

IMAG0077.jpg

Fished out my trusty 12v Multi socket which sits nicely in the void between the centre console and the lower glove bow. Plugged in and secured with cable ties the extended charging lead.

IMAG0080.jpg

The original lead is not long enough and tightly coiled so cut and extended this with some 2 core bell wire

Cable threaded down behind dash at the base of the A pillar, along under the fuse box and steering column to the 12v socket.

IMAG0079.jpg

That sorted the power supply for the charging lead.

Power sorted. Onto the audio feed.

I agree. it certainly isn't the best coloured tinting film by a country mile. It has faded dramatically of late and I'll no doubt replace it in the near future.

Trying to source some more concentrated yellow tint film or paint as I was always a bit dubious of the colour of these.

Nice looking Roomster Jonny

But then mine is an Anthracite Scout so I am biased :D

Thanks for taking time to post your guide to cradle installation.

Quick question - does the end-of-dash trim panel just pull off?

I need to take the panel off mine in order to investigate a rattle.

Thank you.

Thanks Robjon. Indeed some gentle persuasion with a trim tool and comes away easily.

Best of luck finding the rattle

Looking good mate, I miss my old Roomster at times, one of the best handling car's I owned after the mods and supremely practical.

So the Fabia was sold at the weekend which means that my plans for a beast of a Roomster can now forge ahead.

  • Lamin-X Yellow tint film ordered to re-do the fog lights
  • CG Lock fitted
  • Cue a call to Damian @ DPM for a cracking deal on some Weitec GT Hicon Coilovers B)
  • Then it's off to UNIT18 next week for fitting and some further 'tweeks' :bandit:

I'll keep you posted

Excellent, got to post up the results though mate :-) I'm now the proud owner of a 1.6CR TDi Fabia Scout kombi after downsizing from the Superb. So I best get busy with it :-)
