J5's Roomster Scout - **SOLD**

It is interesting because I didn't specify where I wanted it placed, I just assumed it would be in the usual place above my head. So when I got in to programme the Parrot I had to spend a minute or two looking for the microphone. When you think about it, there's no better place. After all I'm looking through the windscreen directly over the dials. Obvious really.

Nice looking Roomster Jonny

But then mine is an Anthracite Scout so I am biased :D

Thanks for taking time to post your guide to cradle installation.

Quick question - does the end-of-dash trim panel just pull off?

I need to take the panel off mine in order to investigate a rattle.

Thank you.

Thanks Robjon. Indeed some gentle persuasion with a trim tool and comes away easily.

Best of luck finding the rattle

Many thanks Jonny5ive.

With the panel removed, the source of the rattle became obvious.

A part of the plastic dashboard was in contact with the steel bulkhead.

A small piece of foam pressed between the two silenced the rattle.

Cheers

Couldn't be @r5eD taking all the trim off again and TBH struggled seeing an obvious way to get the clocks out, I settled for removing the grill from the overhead light unit completely and this seems much better than the mic being behind it

There is no logical reason why one of these from the Ibiza/Fabia 6Y would not fit, but having read that folk could not fit them to 5J fabias I bought one second hand after lining it up as best I could in the engine bay on a cold and wet evening last year.

Save for a few more 'will it, won't it' efforts, it has sat in the garage until this afternoon.

First plan was to cut a notch in one leg of the 'plinth' upon which the vacuum control box sits to facilitate getting the brace to sit properly on top of the suspension turret.

I opted for major amputation of the leg instead B) 4 legs become 3.....

Bolted into place

Vacuum box 'plinth' back in place highlighting the clash of metal that would have been :giggle:

All fitted B) B)

I'll see how it rides for a few weeks, before taking it all off again to paint a more suitable colour

Really pleased with how it handles, much better than my MK1 Fabia on Eibachs.

More weight over the rear giving better balance?

Looks good, always nice to see something unusual on track. :)

I think it is better behaved due to the rear track being wider than the front.

Obviously being lower (circa -80mm) and the RARB help, and yes, thinking about it, not as twitchy at the rear under braking into Quarry as the fabia.

That said there was absolutely feck all in the back of my fabia :giggle:IMAG0153.jpg

I'm noticing that with the Yeti.

Even with the back stripped out it's better balanced than the Fab.

Didn't think about the track width differences.

80mm, that's quite a drop!
