Candy White or Corrida Red

Featured Replies

Finally got the wife to sit down and go over what extras we want on the new 1.6TDi Elegance Estate :-)

These are:

  • Maxidot (me)
  • Sunset Glass (me)
  • Heated front seats (wife)
  • Light assistant (me)
  • Silver roof rails (wife)

Just got to decide on colour. We're going for a sold colour so we can spend the extra on options and it's either Candy White or Corrida Red. I'm leaning towards Candy white - I think it should look pretty good with the sunset glass. Then again I've seen a few Corrida Red VRS's which also look rather good.

My father thinks I'd be mad to go for white as it's a cleaning nightmare. Red is smart and is certainly less common in these days of a thousand shades of silver. Decisions Decisions. Probably white...

  • Can't stand white cars.

  • like this you mean: Hasn't been waxed for over 6 months either!

A vote for Red from me, cleaned mine today and it looks great.

White for me!

White

Id pick white if those are your choices too as for cleaning its not a big deal if car is given some good protection every once and a while with one of the many long lasting products out there then for 6 months at a time dirty just falls off with a rinse and no where near as much sticks to it in first place. Just don't get the option for it to be all done by stealers on PDI over priced big time!

By "the option" I assume this to mean the body and internal seat trim sealant.

This must certainly the biggest number one rip off.

I would rather pay not to have it done.

From my experience while looking round the back of the dealer's workshop I have

repeatedly seen a youth trying his hand at applying this sealant.

ASAP isn't the word to be used, more like ASAFP. Up and over everything that's in the

way - dirt and all. Who cares you most likely won' t see it being prepared.

Incidentally, one often overlooked advantage of white is that they don't show the small chips so readily.

Also should any panels ever need spraying, it is very easy to get a good colour match.

Oh and another one just comes to mind - this colour is deemed to be a safe one as the car stands out very clearly in traffic, as long as it's not foggy or misty.

Hopes this helps.

Red.

IMO white doesn't look that good on a non vrs.

Red does though.

White not as bad as you think to keep clean, no worse than any of the black cars I've had in the past. The benefit of white is that you don't need to dry off every last drop of water as you can't see the white residue. In fact I often wash mine and just dry off the windows and leave the bodywork to dry by itself.

All that said, having had two white vrs I think it will be black next time. White has become too common. My first white vrs was one of very few around when I first got it.

Red

White! Help keep mine more exclusive ;)

Either really - I have white and sometimes wish I'd got red, mainly because the white really does show the dirt at this time of year (it's currently absolutely pitted).

What I would say is don't bother with the silver roof rails if you go for white - the black rails look better in this instance I think.

Red

Totally agree with prolfe personally, Red for me

Red for me as there's far too many white ones about - all flogging photocopiers. Btw, I've seen a receipt for a pro valeter having been paid to apply autoglym for a dealer so they don't all use their internal staff or grease monkeys if you prefer.

Red. No contest!

Got a white car (not a Skoda but still) at the moment, and it looks bleedin awful with all the crap on it. Red looks sporty, even if the car doesn't look sporty!

Red.

But is issue as black & white as it seems? :giggle:

Red it looks so good

Defo Red, looks better than white on the VRs

another red here - at this rate we'll soon be Communist China

Got to be White!

Pita to clean but worth it!

Defo Red, looks better than white on the VRs

You're wrong.

Neither! Anthracite Grey!

That's cleared up that debate then. :giggle:
