Cannot see clear on your pics how these original cuts are aligned, but it worked on the R8 cap.

You must of given up too easy, I have got mine fitted to the mk2 tfsi engine. Needed to cut 2 extra slits to get it lined up, it can be done.

My water cap was a bit loose where as the old one clicked into position and wouldnt come undone with a good old twist so ive fitted a small o ring to the top thread so its nice and tight now and they look so much nicer than the standard ones.
Once again thanks to Scott and Lloyd.

Best way is to make extra slits with a cutter knife.

Does it have a part number on it ?? Although the seat looks imprinted ??
Or does it pop out ( the whole carbon bit )

Its the standard engine cover mate but ive added the carbon fibre part as the original piece that was on there started to lift and just looked untidy so i made a new piece and stuck it on. I bought a sheet of real carbon fibre from ultimate dubs last year about 2'x5' for £20 then made the engine cover part and the number plate surrounds as seen below. It could do with a new Seat Sport sticker as its not the best if im honest.
