Cheers buddy, I'm far from an expert detailer but I try my best, really enjoy seeing the results I get from what I do.

Did you mail order the Tardis in? Not available in any shops?

  • Author

I certainly did fella, bought it off i4detailing. Never seen it in any local shops near to me, although I reckon my local paint place may have some tbh......

Sounds like I have to order it online myself. Looks like good stuff. I do rely on Autoglym tar remover to get the worst off, and then clay. Clearly doesn't get all that much off though as shown by my recent Bentley job....

Yikes that is a lot of crap removed, I don't think this car had ever been clayed and back bumper was a right mess but after working it in with an old Mircofibre (don't wash it as it will stink lol) it seemed to remove most of it. For £21 I think it's well worth the money, I used a full spray bottle which is 750ml I think on the entire car so will last fairly long time too.

Oh and a lil tip if you do order it online, make sure you choose next day delivery as Royal Mail won't deliver it so has to be sent via courier service, I found out thur's morning and was panicking trying to ring the company to pay the extra £1.40 for courier so I got it for friday.

Good effort with the paint. Looks so much better!

Autosmart have a franchisee system. You should be able to get some Tardis (among other Autosmart products) from your local rep. Prices are supposedly a lot cheaper than ordering via the web + delivery.

Cheers fella I'm happy with the results so far, can't wait to use the Black Light polish on it though, used it on black car's before and it really makes the flakes pop.

I'd imagine so it's just the problem of trying to find one, AutoSmarts site don't list rep's etc in the area

I've sent a PM to a rep for Autosmart on detailingworld after doing a google search and hopefully will get some soon

Managed to sort a few more pic's out today as I carried on with the car, didn't manage to get everything done that I wanted as the correction took longer than I had planned, only managed to get a single coat of Blacklight on just before 7 so buffed it off and called it at that. Will wash. and out 2 coats of Blacklight on next weekend and then 2 coats of wax.

Anyway a few pic's that I did take today.

Need to order a new dust shield for the front shock as the other is broken

  • Author

Well I picked my coilover springs, and my RARB from my local powder coater's yesterday afternoon and they have done a fantastic job of them. £40 for the lot doing which I can't grumble at at all.

The powder coated bits look brilliant :)

Cheer's buddy, most likely try and get the RARB fitted this weekend if I can, although I kinda wanna clean the underside of the car first but might be best waiting a few more weeks just yet as still plenty of salt on the road's around here.

Need to sort out a new dust shield for one of the front shocks aswell as one is broken from the crash in the old Fab.

Yeah there is still loads of salt on the roads. Maybe wait til the end of the month or something to give it a good clean :)

What's the best way to clean the underside? Never thought to do it before

Most likely my method will be up on axle stand's, wheels off, arch liners out, give it a right good rinse off first of all with the jet wash (does mean you will get wet/dirty) spray a load of TFR all over, leave it for a while, spray Snow Foam on top after. Leave for a little while then rinse off, use some of the Auto Smart Tardis under arches etc, main chassis bit spray once again with TFR and work it all in with a detailing brush, rinse once again and a final snow foaming for any loose crap that remains.

Will sort myself some IronX out soon for the back of the wheels to be done at the same time.

Sounds epic. Wish I had a jet wash lol

This is where an under body attachment would come in handy dude :)

Haha I agree it would make like easier, but I'm so used to getting down and dirty under the rally car's at work cleaning them off after a rally it doesn't bother me anymore. Get my wet weather gear and my wellies on and jobs a goodun

They are fairly cheap fella, just had to replace my old one due to breaking a seal and couldn't get it repaired cost me £120. It's the rest of the cleaning gear to go with it that costs the money haha. Hate to even think of the complete cost of the entire cleaning gear I have, I'd imagine easily nearly 2k if not more.

Thanks mate. I'll have a little look :) would you recommend karcher?

  • Author

They arent bad for the money you pay for them. Had around 3/4 now. There is more expensive units out there but for what I use it for its good enough.

Also look at nikfisk dude

Not a major update as such really, but after running outta time the other weekend when detailing the car, and fairly rubbish weather the following weekend I finally managed to finish off the car.

Washed it twice, followed by 2 coat's of Chemical Guy's Black Light Polish, and then 2 coat's of Chemical Guy's 50/50 Wax

The metal flake in the paintwork is really standing out now, even from a distance, the polish and wax have really helped.
