Cold Feet

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. The heater in my Superb works fine except there is no heat to either footwell despite depressing the correct control. Any ideas?

It could be the flaps in the ventilation system going out of position - this happens sometimes for no good reason and nothing is broken either. There's a software calibration that can be run to move the ventilation control flaps through their complete range to allow the software to relearn the correct positions. Hopefully this is all that's wrong.

Thanks. Luke warm air is coming through now. Not very hot though.

Certainly sounds like the flaps are mis-aligned.. Mine went haywire just before the last service and the dealer sorted it out FOC. Benn fine since. You'll need someone local to you with VCDS to realign the system for you, or pop to your local dealer; they'll probably charge you 15 mins to do it.

constant bug bear of mine, even when they do pump air out they seem to chill your feet rather than warm them unless you set heat to max, also with "down" selected the side vents chuck out more air then the feet ones and need manualy closing.

Interesting. I've found the heat distribution to be really good on our MKII - certainly much better than our MKI.

Leaving it on auto except for when the windscreen needs demisting I find the climate control to be very effective. I notice it switching between vents to distribute air evenly when it's left in auto, but it's pretty subtle.
