Instrument Cluster differences ?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at changing my instrument cluster due to a minor issue with my existing clock set, I currently have fitted :

Original : 1Z0920912H   ( I know the existing coding etc)

Possible replacement : 1Z0920912D

Difference only being the letter D anyone know what this signifies or how it differs.. ?

OR anyone got a set in the back of their garage ?

Thanks in advance.

You could use this opportunity to upgrade to a maxidot display.

This one is a bargain, and would only need coding in exactly the same as any other 2nd hand replacement cluster.

index H means FAZIT4 security, there is no PIN and normally can be this cluister installed only with online acces to audi server or by someone who has knowledge...

Index D is FAZIT3 with older pin security

Both are prefacelift with same wiring harness.

Thank you Karlos1987, (and others) so I therefore assume I need to go for a H version then to ensure the security issue can easily be resolved ?  OR could  D be used ??  Thanks you.

Umm just my luck  it had to be really difficult !
