  1. My experience with Superb’s and problems that appear and won’t go away when in for a first time repair is to exercise your consumer rights within the 30 day period. Maintain all communication with regards this in writing and following the advice on the Which Magazine website about template rejection letters and how to reject. If you let it go on too long you’ll have a car which is never right and your rights have been dramatically reduced!! I’ve had to reject two cars from Skoda main dealers for issues that they had to know were present - I know one of the dealers absolutely knew about one issue and all they wanted to do was fob me off. Skoda Brockenhurst! I got my money back but boy were they evasive!!!!
  2. I had a similar issue. Same year of car and was told that there is an inherent fault with the design of the panoramic sunroof which causes this issue - Skoda have now changed this with the new FL Superb’s so they don’t suffer the same way. If you google Audi forums, basically the same design pano sunroof, you’ll see lots of horror stories of the pano surround cracking. My old Superb headlining creaked like an old wooden ship from the moment I got it and it went into the dealer several times under warranty. In between the various visits the pano surround cracked - initially there was push back from Skoda but when I presented them with the evidence they relented and replaced the surround under warranty. Other worker completed included new sunroof and sunblind but it never resolved the creaking to the point where I was happy. I got rid of the car when the mechatronic unit failed about 1,000 miles later - an awful car which I traded in and let the trade pick up the issue with the box. Sorry to say this but you will be very lucky if you get rid of that sound.
  3. It might just be me but most people I know who have lane assist don’t rate it. I turned mine off after a few days. Unless you’re a driver that struggles to stay on your side of the carriageway or lane then this is truly just a gimmick. I’ve never missed it since turning it off and it won’t get turned back on again.
  4. Regards the used 'All-in from Skoda' they do have sales a couple of times a year, one of which is usually around November but sadly I don't recall the other time, where they reduce the overall plan price by £200 so if you are in a hurry then it might be worth waiting and purchasing when the price drops. My understanding is that if there is an issue with the vehicle and you are unable to get an appointment prior to the plan expiring then Skoda will still honour the plan as wait times can sometimes be weeks. Do be mindful that I believe the T&C's for the warranty cover are more restrictive than a warranty provided by Skoda if you purchase a used vehicle through them. When it comes to MOT's it might be that some dealers could be creative with failing a vehicle to gain work - not my personal experience but a friends. On a positive note, dealers are generally very positive when it comes to the dreaded metatronic failure and should this happen to your vehicle then the repair alone will cover the cost of the plan.
  5. I bet the dealer does want you to change them. On the forums lots of people report ‘misting’ as being commonplace. I wouldn’t rush to change them simply because the dealer has encouraged you to do so, lots of the DCC shocks go through MOT’s with ‘misting’ and I would only change once you actually notice a difference. However, you might not have a problem burning through £1k plus and in which case just make the change. Good luck with replacing them cheaply if you do decide to do that.
  6. On my last Superb, which was a pain in the behind, I found that when my ACC was not working that impacted on the horn also not working, when the ACC was shown to be working the horn sounded. I put it down to some electrical/Skoda quirk as I saw others in the forum also suffered similar issues.
  7. You can get your build sheet from this seller who normally responds within 24 hours. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224631127243?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=nGO17j9xSwi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=usbV9ksUQWy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Is your car already under warranty from the Škoda dealer? If so I would say don’t bother with the warranty you are looking at. The warranty’s normally go on ‘sale’ a couple of times a year. I don’t think there is any extra cost to pay for it monthly so if you want to spread the cost that might be worth considering. The gearboxes can either be super reliable or built like cheese. I wouldn’t take a chance.
  8. If you want your build sheet you can get one here https://www.coverdalecarparts.co.uk/product-page/vehicle-build-sheets
  9. How long have you had the car because you do have consumer rights but they are dependant on timeframes. I bought a MkIII Superb from Meaden's last year which was faulty from the get go. I allowed them one opportunity to repair it, that failed. Meaden's tried to fob me off that it would be okay to simply drive the car with the EML on even though there was no timeframe for the fault to be resolved. Meaden's persistently refused to collect the car until I advised I would be taking legal action and then they collected it within days. I doubt I would ever buy a car from them again following my experience.
  10. One point to consider is that once you map you will undoubtedly invalidate any dealer warranty you will have been provided with. Hope your experience goes well, I thoroughly enjoyed the Stage 1 and DSG tune in my MkII Superb.
  11. Oddly enough I found the same issue with the horn the other day when the temperature was below freezing. Shortly afterwards it was all working again. I know the ACC can be fickle with cold weather, it’s often mentioned on the forums but the horn was a new one to me. Be interested to see if others find they have this ‘quirk’.
  12. I did this to my MkII and had to call a locksmith. The locksmith picked the lock and commended the security of the Superb. I now have 3 keys to my MkIII
  13. I use Amazon basic ones and they work perfectly for me.
  14. Is the dealer doing this work the dealer you purchased the vehicle from? If so I would ask to speak to the Dealer Principal. The silica bag issue is well known, and well documented. The risk of a considerable financial bill due to the bag splitting is practically a given. To the best of my knowledge Skoda now no longer fit this bag in new vehicles because of the damage being caused. If the dealer has sold you the car with the bag still in situ I would suggest they need to acknowledge some degree of responsibility. If you get push back from the dealer I would take the matter up with Skoda U.K. Customer Services. If there is still no joy I would consider seeking legal advice via any legal helpline you have with your car or home insurance. The dealer should deal with this as a warranty issue and should they state they won't I would ask for those reasons to be given in writing. At the very least they should make a gesture of goodwill by accepting a significant part of the costs. Good luck!!
  15. As others have said you will not get any other third party application displaying there, this is for Skoda navigation only, the third party applications display on the main infotainment screen.
