  1. If you want your build sheet you can get one here https://www.coverdalecarparts.co.uk/product-page/vehicle-build-sheets
  2. How long have you had the car because you do have consumer rights but they are dependant on timeframes. I bought a MkIII Superb from Meaden's last year which was faulty from the get go. I allowed them one opportunity to repair it, that failed. Meaden's tried to fob me off that it would be okay to simply drive the car with the EML on even though there was no timeframe for the fault to be resolved. Meaden's persistently refused to collect the car until I advised I would be taking legal action and then they collected it within days. I doubt I would ever buy a car from them again following my experience.
  3. One point to consider is that once you map you will undoubtedly invalidate any dealer warranty you will have been provided with. Hope your experience goes well, I thoroughly enjoyed the Stage 1 and DSG tune in my MkII Superb.
  4. Oddly enough I found the same issue with the horn the other day when the temperature was below freezing. Shortly afterwards it was all working again. I know the ACC can be fickle with cold weather, it’s often mentioned on the forums but the horn was a new one to me. Be interested to see if others find they have this ‘quirk’.
  5. I did this to my MkII and had to call a locksmith. The locksmith picked the lock and commended the security of the Superb. I now have 3 keys to my MkIII
  6. Is the dealer doing this work the dealer you purchased the vehicle from? If so I would ask to speak to the Dealer Principal. The silica bag issue is well known, and well documented. The risk of a considerable financial bill due to the bag splitting is practically a given. To the best of my knowledge Skoda now no longer fit this bag in new vehicles because of the damage being caused. If the dealer has sold you the car with the bag still in situ I would suggest they need to acknowledge some degree of responsibility. If you get push back from the dealer I would take the matter up with Skoda U.K. Customer Services. If there is still no joy I would consider seeking legal advice via any legal helpline you have with your car or home insurance. The dealer should deal with this as a warranty issue and should they state they won't I would ask for those reasons to be given in writing. At the very least they should make a gesture of goodwill by accepting a significant part of the costs. Good luck!!
  7. As others have said you will not get any other third party application displaying there, this is for Skoda navigation only, the third party applications display on the main infotainment screen.
  8. Refurbish them and then get them powder coated to whatever colour you wish, far more resilient than diamond cut wheels. I know, I refurbished my diamond cut and they never lasted and wish that I just went to the powder coat which was cheaper.
  9. I have a 2020 MkIII hatchback with panoramic sunroof. On driving it back from the dealers it was the normal limo like drive on the motorway but as soon as I got it on A, B or unclassified roads there were so many creaks it was like I was sailing in a wooden sail ship. I isolated them to the headlining but in the meantime the sun blind failed. The dealer packed it with foam saying they had had another Superb with a similar problem. Shortly afterwards I had panoramic sunroof surround crack, what appears to be a common fault. The long and short of this is that Skoda have accepted responsibility to replace the panoramic sunroof surround, sun roof and the blind. Currently only the sunroof surround and blind changed as glass sunroof is on back order. The good news is that the creaks have pretty much all been eliminated. I had a MkII Superb estate and it was bliss to drive - solid and noise free. Cannot fault the build quality of mine bar the bumper clip on the R/O/S. Hope you get all your noises sorted as I feel your pain but once done you’ll no doubt be driving around with a massive smile again.
  10. In relation to the AdBlue have you turned the ignition on and left it for 30 seconds before but starting the engine? If not try that and then it should register you have topped it up. It took the next time I turned the engine on for the light to go out.
  11. The thing that would provide the clarity of this issue would be what is the fault code that has been stored which causes your EML to illuminate. Ring Meadens or your local independent and ask them and then post it here, without it then it’s pure guesswork. I am pretty confident that one of the fault codes will be Engine - SCR NOX Catalyst Efficiency below Threshold P20EE00. Want to manage your expectations and say if it’s the above fault then the only sure fire way of removing the light is doing a DPR delete.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion but they won't do KESSY but will supply older keys.
  13. I am collecting a new to me MkIII Superb next week from a Skoda dealer and was told that it comes with 2 keys as the third key is an option when ordering the car at the build stage - at that point it is 35 quid. I asked how much to get a third key made and....wait for it.....sit down....450 quid. If I hadn't been sitting down I would have fallen over. I know people will say two keys are enough but for practicality I would prefer a third and has anyone one had a key made and coded for less than that? I know I could trawl Google but I am hoping some kind and knowledgable person might have prior knowledge. TIA.
  14. I didn’t have any intention of selling the vehicle. However, I was concerned that the dealerships initial response was basically just drive it with the EML on and don’t worry which is all well and good but if another fault happens you won’t know as the EML is already on. Furthermore when it comes to the MOT it won’t pass. Thankfully I was within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle and so could reject it but Skoda only did this because I had the law on my side otherwise it would have been tough luck.
  15. My vehicle was a MY19 Superb L&K 190BHP diesel hatchback - Index MD19WUY incase any members see it and are tempted to buy it - personally I wouldn't. I was told that my vehicle required a software update that hadn't been released as yet to prevent the EML from illuminating with the fault code. Below is a cut and paste from the Sales Manager at the Skoda dealership I purchased the vehicle from. I was also told that my vehicle needed the software update from Skoda Customer Service when I contacted them. I asked which vehicles were impacted by this fault as I didn't know if it was the model, engine or MY that was where the fault lay as I hoped to avoid buying another one with it. Skoda wouldn't divulge that information. I felt that given there was a software update being written there had to be a considerable number with a similar issue but on other forums and here there wasn't much feedback. I managed to return the vehicle and get my full purchase price back but it was a difficult and inconvenient process. Skoda sales manager email to me 'He (the service manager) has also given the part of the report which states SKODA are aware of the software issue causing the EML light to appear and have released the following comments – The entry in the event memory (P20EE) does not lead to any limitations of the vehicle functions. Safe vehicle operation is guaranteed. No damage to parts (Explain this situation to the customer). These are the official instructions we have been given from the factory. I understand it must be frustrating buying a new vehicle and having a warning light appearing on the dashboard, but please rest assured that as soon as the software update becomes available, we will contact you straight away so this can be booked in. I also thought it might be reassuring to know that with the statement above being from the factory, they have guaranteed that you will not suffer any mechanical issues with the vehicle due to the light being illuminated. I do apologies for the inconvenience this has caused but with any luck the fix will be out soon and you can start to enjoy your new car!
  16. Thanks for this. Skoda state it is a software issue and they have no release date for the update. I have returned the car under The Consumer Regulations Act 2015 and the dealer refunded me the purchase price. Mind you they did initially try to charge me a quid for each mile I had driven until I quoted the Act.
  17. I am suffering from the same code fault P20EE00. I have been told on 7th January 2023 that some software is being written but with no date for this to be rolled out. What happened in your case?
  18. Now if only I could drive a before and after 😉 ....I hear what you are saying.
  19. The car is good but it could be better. I've driven lots of different vehicles both for work and socially and 'poke' wise it could tear up the tarmac a little quicker...especially on an overtake.
  20. Thanks for the reply and appreciate the detail!! You've sold the remap at St Albans to me, it is a little way for me to travel but knowing that they have done to yours then it's a no brainer and £249 sounds reasonable given the results. Picking up my Superb MkII (FL) L&K DSG 170BHP next week from Platinum Skoda in Bath, but it is the load lugger estate so if the remap helps it move along the tarmac then I'm interested. I had a break after my first Superb and had a couple of Passat's, just not the same so returning to what I know and like. As you say they are practical, economical and damn the L&K has toys, I am liking the ventilated seats, but it is not the most exciting of drives so this could be a game changer. I'll give you a shout when I get it sorted, fingers crossed that will be early August. The TT sounds like a beeeeeeeast. Once again really appreciate the swift response.
  21. Hi bren_j@live Hope you don't mind me messaging out of the blue but I saw your post about remapping your Superb and was considering doing the same and considering St Albans Car Clinic. Wondering how it was still going for you? Sounds like you thought it was worth the money. Can I confirm it was a remap and not chip. Cheers Mark
  22. Skoda Superb 2006 (Facelift) Some kind soul took the drivers wing mirror off my parked Superb this morning. The colour coded casing has broken, the indicator lens has been smashed and the plastic clip fixes from the casing and lens cover have snapped inside the mirror framework. I called Skoda at Flax Bourton, Bristol and got a quote of £423 including VAT for the motor, casing, painting of casing, indicator unit and lens cover - with fitting I guess around £475!! At least the man at the parts had the decency to ask if I was sat down before he told me!! Rough price breakdown was £144 plus vat for wing mirror unit £73 plus VAT for indicator unit £25 plus VAT for plastic casing £45 plus VAT for painting Part number on sticker on inside of said broken wing mirror 3U2 857 508 AI a search on it came back with 3U2 857 508 E 01C I am trying to source a second hand unit, casing (different colour or primed new one), indicator unit with lens. I have sent a request via the breaker sites but understand that although wing mirrors may say they fit the Skoda Superb 2002-2008 they may not. Any suggestions? Someone got a friendly contact? Cheers Mark
  23. I had a similar issue and took it to the Skoda dealership in Bath and got them to look at it during a major service and they identified the DPF fluid needed topping up. I have to commend the honesty of the garage as they said it could possibly take three bottles of it but one would suffice for now, I think they had an issue sourcing it and possibly another reason. I will have another bottle put in during the next service. Each bottle cost around £100 including VAT. No flashing light after that!! Heaven....The easiest thing to do is get the codes read but do it sooner rather than later. Good luck
  24. Firstly hello to everyone, from what I have read you seem like a friendly and non judgmental lot which is good news to someone who doesn't really know an awful lot about cars!! I have a '56' 2006 Skoda Superb 2.0TDi comfort 'facelift' with 110k. Ideally looking to broaden my knowledge about Skoda's, and of course Superbs in particular. It would appear that DPF's spark up quite a bit of debate and even amongst the folk here and so I am going to throw my hat into the ring and seek some advice from those of you far more knowledgable than me but I'll do that in the Superb forum. But in the meantime I live near Wells, Somerset and want to ideally find a trustyworthy Skoda knowledgable mechanic or garage in the area or one near Bristol and Bath, any suggestions? Cheers Mark
