  1. I'd rather deal with the stone chips than look like a tit. 🤣
  2. No no no no no 😂
  3. Personally, I think they are horrid! If you're worried about the paintwork, I'd suggest you have a look at PPF (paint protection film) instead. You won't know it's fitted and should save you from a few stone chips. I'd be very worried that dirt etc would collect at the edges of a bonnet bra and rub causing paintwork damage...
  4. that's exactly a flare. I did it as a celebration when I was able to connect and code the reversing camera for all £20 🤣
  5. It’s sold. Well, verbally it is. Just sorting a few odds and ends for the new owner and then it’s ready to go.
  6. Might aswell protect the rear aswell 👍
  7. That's exactly why we bought another Yeti......
  8. You would be more tolerant if you had driven through a locust swarm or met a B-double at speed on a dirt road. The mesh over the radiator intakes on car bra is more useful than the chip protection imo. I have flyscreen discretely attached to my intakes and my radiator fins are as new. I have driven into a swarm of bees at speed in a previous car and spent a fair amount of time cleaning them off and straightening the bent aluminium fins to get airflow through. Aesthetically I understand your concern.
  9. Continues to be a work-in-progress-project, but pretty happy about the exterior of my 2016 ŠKODA Superb 280. Lowered on H&R suspension, BBS 20” CH-R2s, sportline look with black mirrors, window trim and front chrome parts replaced, sporty honeycomb grill, logos colored, etc...
  10. Don’t worry about it. Just let the charger get on with it. It’s not going to do any harm at all being a Ctek. There’s no electronics in a starter battery so you aren’t going to damage it by picking the wrong charging program once in a while for a quick top up charge. An occasional recharge esp on low mileage cars helps the battery stay at peak performance and allows stop start to operate more frequently - a good sign in itself that the battery is hunky dory.
  11. This is possibly useful to you: CFD explanations.pdf
  12. It will be - but like so many drivers on the road, they don't care, so long as they can see miles ahead and perceive that it "looks good". Thankfully the roads aren't full of them, but when you are faced with someone who has just "slammed in some different bulbs or lighting styles - because the rules apply to everyone else but them" it's just so damn annoying. I'd have their cars off the road and crushed if I was in charge.
  13. After Pole position number 93 yesterday Lewis adds victory 89 to his bursting trophy cabinets. Red Bull and Renault fill their boots with good points and the rumour is that Ferrari will enter a FIAT 500 Abarth in the next race because in testing it is faster than the 2020 F1 car.
  14. I think the unique appeal of the Yeti is summed up by the continued activity in this Forum 3 years after the Yeti was axed. I have watched other forums for similar vehicles and there is less activity on them even though the cars are relatively new and in production. Must mean something!
  15. Not got one and have always thought they looks absolutely stupid and ridiculous on anything other than a massive American 4x4
  16. Having owned a 2016 Superb with the 150PS petrol 1.4TSi ACT engine for 16,000 miles it's very good at what is designed to do namely sip petrol. Consistently gave me 50mpg and 700+ miles per tank with a best of 800 miles. What it is not is exciting and after your stage 1 diesel and all that torque you are used to the 1.4TSi will feel a little flat although it is a great little engine.
  17. How about buy through a broker site to get a new one to your spec for less - eg Drivethedeal seems to have some reasonable discounts although others sites are available. Used cars do seem to be rather overpriced at the mo. PS that is quite a colour - hadn't seen that anywhere before. I'd like a change from silver or grey when I change and not black or white. Petrol blue has caught my attention but I'm still not sure.
  18. I bought my mudflaps from UK VW dealers and from an Eu source, all were easy to fit and genuine Skoda parts. I always found them worth fitting to reduce spray (whatever other people say) for myself and other drivers.
  19. Alan What exactly do you want to achieve? Just ask the questions in order. PS Pins 8, 9,10 of T10e connector for optional equipment are not used. No English searchable wiring diagrams or factory manuals. The numbers on the top rails are described in DIN72552 standard.
  20. Hope that's a flare and it's not on fire.
  21. If you are going to use them all year round then a set of All Season tyres with the TPMSS ( three Peak Mountain Snowflake Symbol ) could be good. Thanks AG Falco
  22. Oh god, I think I'm going to be sick.
  23. My SEL has the 18 inch wheels. I was a bit worried the fide would be bad but to be honest it's been fine. Just don't understand why smaller wheels are no an option. I have 16 inch winters so for a few months it will run on them. Also don't understand why the option of "All Season" tyres is not available.
  24. Yes, I heard about this also. This car has Matrix headlights with SLA. eyelashes works in parking lights, the only question is to find correct adaptation channels responsible for this and enable them with day time lights.
  25. Exactly. We replaced ours with a lovely specced up Octavia estate, which I promptly sold 18 months later to get another Yeti! The Octavia just had no personality (something only Yeti owners understand!)
  26. You could find the insides of the lenses quite dirty too, Micky. This is a picture of mine with a torch shining through it from the inside before cleaning, just touched inside to show how dirty it was.
  27. Just make sure you don't leave any grease marks when handling the bulbs.
  28. It justs needs the words re-arranging that is all! It is the highest speed the tyre can safely maintain within the load limits of the tyre. That is the biggest and most dangerous load of crap I have ever heard!
  29. If you only have high beam assist, it's probably a lowline. If you have either lane assist or traffic sign recognition, it's a highline. Typically the following is true: - A lowline (20) camera is built into the rear view mirror base. - A highline (A5) camera is stuck directly to the windscreen and have a triangular cutout to 'see' through. Example lowline: Example highline:
  30. I had the same issue with a pair of LEDs that I put in. Ended up buying these as entire replacement units and no faults so far: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/183251881190
  31. I think they dropped the 2.0Tsi 220 around Feb 19 due to emission changes so it may reduce the choice for ones with the upgraded Mib 2.5. Prices have shot up since lockdown has lifted due to a lack of stock as people have mentioned. Most used skoda stock are Skoda Uk stock for management/ demos/ staff etc and it just hasn’t happened. I would contact Marshall’s or wait six months if your not desperate. When I got mine last year they seemed to have the biggest choice of high spec cars. I eventually got what I wanted ( Towbar, canton, alloys). The issue with the 2019 FL is the dealers seem to be holding back on the options because it quickly pushes it past £40000 therefore higher tax! When the dealers first reopened there where a couple of bargains to shift standing stock. I saw a few Passat RLine edition 272tsi or 240 bi turbo diesel 4motion with less than 1500 miles for 28k with full spec. They are now around 32-33k with 8000miles. Agree with others that the prices are pretty firm, I wouldn’t bank on knocking more than a couple hundred off. Hopefully there will be choice in a few weeks once the new plate is out. Good luck with the search.
  32. Thanks TMWNA. Mostly as expected then. The insert it a poly one. Do they still deform like the ali/steel ones? I know the recommended tdi poly inserts are a different hardness to petrol versions but couldn't remember if they were softer or harder. I'll look them up and see what it says. So springs might not work. Probably better to get the correct kit from the start. Many thanks.
  33. Not for me, wrong fuel type I'm afraid, its also a bloody long drive there although, set off early enough & its ok, coming back not so good though
  34. Tony it's FOR SALE if you fancy an upgrade.
  35. FMS Sasha, your car is ACTUALLY clean Very rare sight🤣🤣🤣
  36. Can't see any reason for Skoda to have changed anything major like size/shape of the windows, twas only a face lift FFS. So, the blinds & deflectors should be fine The Pedalbox I know works The used dogbone will now be misshaped The springs are probably OK for the front but, the rear track of the fl is 38mm wider so, this may cause an issue
  37. OK you guys you can kick this hot potato around as much as you like but, the bottom line is, if its got tits or tyres its gonna cost you money & the prettiest/fastest models are gonna cost you much more. Dealers need to make 1500 quid outta each deal, thats just the pure economics of their business costs & when I said each deal, that means trade-in 1 deal, purchase 1 deal, or 3 grand in total if trade-in. Nobody wants to pay 3 grand but, drive on to the forecourt in your old car, drive off in your new car, simples. There will always be 2nd hand car market exceptions though, normal supply & demand rules apply. The guy earlier with the financially underwater 1.6tdi was probably due dieselgate whereas I got more for 1.4tsi due to its £30 tax disc. So, if you have the time & abilities to sell private, you'll save 1500 quid but, you'll need a 2nd car, same applies to webuyanycar et. al. TBH playing around with 30-40 grand cars I CBA, I just leave it to the professionals & accept it'll cost me money, bung it on the monthly & its less than a tenner a month🤔🤫🤭🤗
  38. Epic new lap record (twice) by Lewis and smashed his own team mate by half a second sends a loud message which will not be lost on Bottas and his confidence.
  39. I have been running these for the last 3 years can't fault them. https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre/nexen-n-blue-4-season-225-50-r17-94-v#311746500
  40. I know I’m being fussy as I have my heart set on this colour and it’s the first time I’ve ever gone car shopping for a car in one specific colour and when it’s used that’s hard. I guess I don’t really want to flex my retrofit skills too hard this time as I want to keep that £ in my pocket as the car is going to be over double what the Octy has been provisionally sold for so I’m trying to get the car with the most options and right now that 1.4 stands out as it has almost all the right options and I have a lane assist camera for it already and the blind spot monitoring mirrors so I could do that and I drove a 1.4 today and it got up and went but I worry a few months in the novelty of the colour will wear off and I’ll want more oomph so I think I’m going to be firm and aim for a 2.0, preferably an MY18 or newer with the MIB2.5 (one less costly retrofit) and as much spec as I can get as I’m going to be good and be patient. I’m not fussy on body style, mileage, location, fuel type, front or four wheel drive or engine output as long as it’s one of the 2.0’s and it’s a DSG and a lot of other factors that would put a lot of other people off, but I am sold on this colour 100% and I know if I get one in a different colour that every time I see a Dragon Green one I’ll have to go off and have a little cry somewhere so I’m sticking to that.
  41. I have CrossClimates on my 2013 Yeti which have covered over 50,000 miles and still have 4 - 5mm left. Oh! and they are quiet and grip well in low temperatures and snow.
  42. Get your Indy to take a photo showing the reason they believe the shocks to be faulty. Either take that to the main dealer or post it back here for a more informed response.
  43. Cost about £190.00. Much cheaper than getting another car. ☺️ I would struggle to replace it as nothing out there has the load lugging capacity with the performance, gadgets/features and luxury at that price.
  44. Question, what steps should you take if your car catches fire? Answer, Bl**dy long ones!
  45. Hello. I was able to set up a reversing camera without dynamic lines from aliexpress for the amount of £ 16 .. Everything works as it should .. I did the coding using obd eleven..
  46. Here is the new (used) girl I'll be picking up on the weekend.
  47. 1 point
Front lower radiator mounts that have failed can knock over bumps, easy way to check is to temp lodge a piece of foam between rad and crossmember to see if noise reduces or goes away. If it is them, I'm not sure they are still available anymore, so you may need to get creative. Also double check your dog bone bushes are not seperated.
  48. My new to me, Jungle Green L&K 280. Had it 4 days..
