  1. I meant audi amplifier, if you ever fit that, the cables will be harder for you but easier for me 😂 I will be doing VC but will take me some time before that, to buy mib2.5 etc. First. Anyway its not just most, you still need to bring another wire to the radio unit.
  2. So for you it's a bigger problem when you fit the amplifier 😂 You are correct, I need to buy another hour on erwin to understand how to remove trim parts around dashboard to get the cable across, maybe first I should test if the cable is long enough just sitting loose on top of dashboard... I didn't think about the lhd/RHD cable length difference
  3. Mine's right hand drive (UK) , so in my case under the drivers seat 😊
  4. I have access to etka 8.3, which is the official dealer parts software - let me know if I can help with anything

  6. I just coded the flaps to stay open on mine with vcds
  7. This guy didn't really know what he was talking about, as he didn't understand how part numbers work, so I stopped taking his advice. Also the aliexpress harness is not perfect. mine arrived. it has nothing designed to connect to the green double-fakra coax aerial connector on the tuner, it has 3x coax aerial cables all right, one too short to get to the back of the superb, another tied in along with the cables that go to the headunit (maybe in the golf one of the aerials is near the head unit?), so it's definitely not perfect for the superb. I will probably still use it to get from the tuner to the headunit, and one of the coax fakra cables is probably good. I started fitting the tuner unit today. start by putting the drivers seat (right hand drive car) all the way back, and also as high as the seat will go. then
  8. Thanks, so I guess OBDeleven can provide the S revision code (13.5.2019-20.07.2020). I can't find that flash file for ODIS, but I can find the next revision called AB (20.07.2020 - 23.11.2020). After that, looks like the part number changed. I'm going to hazard a guess that all versions up to the part number change use the same hardware, and take my chances flashing the AB version to my J controller. I have the
  9. @SashaGrace I just checked , and my bootlid controller is also the 'J' revision. how do you mean you have 's software' on yours? you mean it's flashed with ODIS to some 'S' version (in which case I can't find an s version flash data file, only G, L or AB), or it's just a paramater set xml file that you set to it? If I can upgrade mine likewise somehow on a software basis from J to S to avoid having to buy an S controller, all the better
  10. Thanks so much. I actually figured out the bottom-of-page number-linking system, I just naively expected there to be a diagram of locations of the circled places I'll just have to follow the wires like you say.. !
  11. Is anyone good at reading current flow diagrams? For a skoda superb, how am I supposed to find the physical location of things that are inside circles on these diagrams, like 'B503 − Positive connection 7 (30a), in interior wiring harness', when B503 is not mentioned in the other wiring documents that I can find inside erwin like 'fitting locations - coupling stations and plug connections of wiring harness, fitting locations for control units, fitting locations - fuses, fitting locations - relays or even 'basic information' diagram I feel like there's a document in erwin somewhere that shows these locations that I can't seem to find
  12. That colour is such a head turner
  13. Thanks, do you know what type of things paramaters tend to affect? Trying to understand their purpose. Also any idea where to get tsb/tpi reports?
  14. Replace, unless youre comfortable disassembling light units, which is a tricky job involving heat gun to soften adhesive etc. Difficult to get right without experience
  15. I've bought a 3Q0907530AC can gateway from an Audi which I intend to use on my Skoda Superb as part of retrofitting virtual cockpit. I've got vcds and have used that for coding previously, so am getting familiar with that. I've bought a vas5054A and installed ODIS, but haven't used it before. In what cases do you need to flash files? why are some flash files .bin, some .frf, and some .sgo? can flashing 'upgrade' a module , for instance in many cases vag parts have variants a/b/c/d/e at the end of the part names, are there cases where the hardware is the same, and you can just flash it with a newer file to upgrade it from variant 'd' to variant 'e' for example? and if so, how can you tell in which cases it is a software difference and in which cases the actual hardware is different? would I be right in thinking that I should first 'flash' this controller with the skoda file FL_3Q0907530AC_5388_S.frf ? does it then also need 'paramaters'? what exactly do paramaters do, where do you get them, and can you use odis to send them, or do I need also to get VCP and send them with that?
  16. So I found bootlid module 5Q0 959 107 S (13/05/2019-20/07/2020) used on ebay from an audi Q2, would I be right to guess that it would need to be flashed with ODIS with skoda parameters? if so, I have a full dump of flash files for vag that's up to date as of march, but i can only see these files for that module FL_5Q0959107AB_0272_MQBMID_V001.frf FL_5Q0959107L_0261_MQBMID_V001.frf FL_5Q0959107G_0250_MQBMID_V001.frf so if it needs flashing to skoda, not sure where to get the right file for that S version
  17. thanks, I see what you mean, there are 8 versions of that control unit for tailgate. and if I go for the 's' version, I can wave the foot to close the bootlid. did they go back to 1 button with the S version I wonder? I see an advantage in having foot kick to close the bootlid, but I see zero advantage in a dual button. like literally, zero. from a UX perspective, you have one call to action, one button to press. how has 'auto' made your life easier? you still have to press a button, might as well just press the close button next to it when you're _actually_ done... no?! so for me it's the S version or nothing. I'm guessing no need to change the button for 2-button variant if choosing the 's' controller? skoda retail price is £185 on that controller, probably not worth it new but will keep an eye out for one from a breakers. I don't see M or Q versions, perhaps they're Kombi-specific?
  18. Omg absolute hero @JR RS!! Couldn't be more helpful. @SashaGrace Do you mean replace the 'close' button on the bootlid? With some different version? Sounds weird.. Wonder why? And which specific controller are you talking about? The little one that comes as part of this easy open kit? Thanks!
  19. Can't find the heated version spinnything ("clock spring") less than £100 5Q0953502B, never thought that would be more expensive than the wheel haha
  20. My method was to find the brochure for the year and figure out exactly which options were available, which the car was specced with, which have the highest value, and which ones I actually wanted. Evidence of the haldex having been looked after also
  21. Kit is missing: from diagram 909-000 5K0 962 283 Retainer for aerial Sensor line for tailgate opening £5.10 (22 on diagram) 000 971 010 x7 retaining plate for cable binder (self-adhesive) £2.28 each (24 on diagram) 3C8 962 283 Bracket £7.16 (21 on diagram) WHT 003 954 x2 Hexagon socket flat head bolt £0.59 each (21A on diagram) N 107 324 01 corrugated pipe in coils of 5m 'order unit 5' £3.31 (27 on diagram) fun fact, the 'sensor lines' (16 on diagram) are listed at £88.13 each! this is where the saving by ordering the chinese kit as opposed to all skoda parts is good. I actually think it's genuine vag parts anyway, the little controller box has a stamped vag number as do the connectors.
  22. Thanks so much to @JR RS for this picture. so helpful. Now I just need to figure out where the wires should enter the boot, and where the little 'connector block' that the 'aerial' plugs into should be mounted, and what parts the chinese aidu auto kit is missing
  23. Think I managed to find the right pins on the Kessy module. With original skoda parts it should be kessy pin 31 (grey wire) and 34 (blue wire). On this kit it's kessy pin 31 (yellow/black wire) and kessy pin 34 (red/green)
