  1. Anything each can do to stop this helps us in our fight. Our man who works this everyday is Santos and I asked him to comment on this thread. Obviously, he has not done so as yet. He and the owner of Ross-Tech have been chasing this outfit for 2 years using our lawyers in the UK. Time and money spent and still they operate. Can you understand our frustration? Now take what they do, and multiple that by nearliy every country in the world. If we had unlimited time and money, perhaps we could succeed. But, when Chinese copy their own company products undercutting their own country and their government looks the other way, how can outsiders expect results? We are left to trying to stop the sales channels. We have some success. However, many illegal products are sold because so many choose to only look at price. I understand. I want cheap prices too. When we release new software, each time we implement new ways to stop the theft. Sadly, our new ways get broken pretty quickly. At one point we estimated nearly 30% of our efforts to develop product are dedicated to fighting/preventing the illegal theft. Imagine what our product could be if our efforts just went to product development! Ahh the joys of designing and delivering products in this world. Our government does not seem to care. They give us lip service since China is now our banker and will continue to lend more money to us now that the election results are in. Spend, spend, spend.... $20 Trillion in debt, here we come!
  2. rwbaldwin, yes, we VeRO them... and they find a way back.... we're on it and we do as much as we can to stop them. The real issue is that people keep wanting their "product". If people would only stop buying, they'd go away. But, when they offer the stolen product for less than half the price of the real product .... some will always opt for the "cheap" goods thinking they have a good deal. It's a reality with which we live all around the world. Try as we may, we will not succeed in stopping all sales.
  3. Because they ship from an address in the UK but their corporate offices are elsewhere...... been there, done that a number of times. Thanks for your suggestions.
  4. Gizmo, you are correct. We have not released pricing as we are still working out the details on it. We are trying to have product release in first quarter 2013. It will be more expensive than the VCDS License with HEX-USB+CAN interface but at this point I cannot say how much more. Field testing is beginning on product. Do watch the web page for further updates (http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-mobile/index.html). Last update on that page was 2 weeks ago - you can see a photo of the pre-production units that are going out for field tests at the bottom of the page.
  5. Thanks Eddie - but the truth is we go through this most every business day. We have one member of our staff who searches for eBay sales and all clone sales around the world. We also have our distributing partners doing the same thing. There is a process one must go through to take down each and every sale. We have some success taking down a vendor who is reported enough times to warrant such action. But remember, eBay needs sellers and so their priority is to allow sellers..... Need I say more?
  6. It shows as an intermittent condition. Have your tried clearing the DTC to see if it returns? The code is telling you that communications between the ECU and the ABS modules have failed. It occurred once as seen by fault frequency. It does not appear to be a big problem. By the way, if you want further help, I'd suggest and request that you pony up to the bar and buy a real interface - instead of the Chinese knock-off you are using.
  7. Yes, we know. We do go after them on eBay. We have some success there. We're trying to get their stuff banned on eBay. Not an easy task.
  8. We've been trying to get this company for 2 years now. Our lawyers can't find them. Seems their web stuff is hosted from Sweden while they make it look like they are a UK company. Very sophisticated rip off artists. If we can find them, we hope to stop them from selling illegal copies of our product and making themselves look like they are Ross-Tech official distributor. THEY ARE NOT OFFICIAL ROSS-TECH! THEY ARE THIEVES!
  9. Some information can be found here: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/vw-remote-matching.html More information is found in the Ross-Tech Wiki Immobilizer page: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer
  10. I'm not aware of any change to the software that would stop OBDII functions. If you have a genuine system and are registered, send a message to [email protected]. Our guys will look at it - we don't have many Fiats in the US so not sure we will actually be able to do any testing though. (Fiat 500 just came to the US through their purchase of Chrysler)
  11. Our interfaces do not support the VPW standard under OBDII. We never claimed that our devices were fully and totally OBDII compliant. They are compliant with the sub-section that VAG uses. Bash our tool all you like. We desgined for VAG cars. We did not design it as a generic OBDII tool. The reason we have any support for OBDII is because VAG began changing their documentation from VAG codes to OBDII for certain procedures. Imagine how happy users would be if they had to go get a generic tool to do the OBD functions and use VCDS for the VAG functions. When VAG changed the rules of the game, we added the OBD support. If memory serves, that was in 2006. We are adding full OBDII support to our next generation product.
  12. My guess is that your 2011 Yeti uses UDS protocol. Under UDS, the measuring values are not addressed as measuring groups and blocks. There is a whole new method of addressing them. To look at live measuring values, you need to use the Advanced Measuring Value function which you will note is not grayed out. In Advanced Measuring Values, the values appear in a drop down table. Simply click the box next to the value you wish to see.
  13. As Gizmo stated, the product is pretty easy to learn and if you know VAG lingo, you should have no problem adapting. As to a manual, you can print one out at any time or you can go to our web site and use the online manual/demo. The buttons on this online manual are active and the description of the contents of the screen is given below the screen. When you need tecnical information, you can check the Ross-Tech Wiki. Granted, we focus on more US models, there are many similarities to the UK models. And for registered users, there is free tech support by our staff via email.
  14. A 2006 TFSI is a CAN based vehicle. VCDS-Lite and the cable from Gendan will not work on that car. You need a VCDS License with MicroCAN interface or a VCDS License with HEX-USb+CAN interface.
  15. First, you probably will not want to hear from me since I have a vested interest in telling why VCDS is a complete solution versus the partial solutions offered by others. But having said that, let me also state that VCDS is not the answer for all. If you are going to use it once to make some mods and then throw it in the tool box and not drag it out again, it is a waste of money in my opinion. However, if you are interested in DIY repair and you are looking for a complete solution, you should consider VCDS. One of the questions to ask is how many fault codes are decoded in the tool? VCDS now has over 16,000 fault codes decoded and put into language that may give a clue what is wrong with the car. Next, does the tool give you the additional information along with a fault code - does it provide freeze frame data in modules that support freeze frame data. Does the tool provide access to all live measuring values? Does the tool let you perform Basic Settings, Adaptations and Output tests required to repair systems in the car? Does the tool let you code modules and does it provide an easy to use Long Coding Helper to assist you as you make coding changes? Does the tool manufacturer have a support function on the web that is free to use by anyone? If you get stuck and need help, does the tool manufacture have a tech support function you can contact to get help and is that function staffed by professionals who were trained by VW or Audi? The answer on the VCDS side of the equation is yes to all of these. Good luck with your search.
  16. Better yet - run an Autoscan and save it. All the coding is there. However, Basic Settings and Adaptations are not recorded. So be sure to write those down before changing anything.
  17. I highly doubt our interface will work with another piece of software. To try other software, you can follow these instructions from the Options page in the manual:
  18. Sorry, I missed the cars at the start of the thread. Oh that I would read all the words! I mislead you about the KKL wire and VCDS-Lite. VCDS-Lite and a KKL wire will not work with either of those. If you want to use VCDS - the least expensive close to factory diagnostic tool, you will need either a MicroCAN or a HEX+CAN interface. Gendan does sell both. Some of our other UK distribs sell the HEX+CAN. I am doubtful either these products will be in your budget since you started this thread looking for "cheap".
  19. VCDS-Lite and KKL wire should be in your budget.... VCDS-Lite can be run in shareware mode for free.....Try Gendan for a KKL wire.
  20. What happened that triggered the immo? With all the other faults listed, it sounds like the communications between modules is really confused. Sure you have it all back together as it should be? Sometimes a full reboot of all the electronics will help..... other times it hurts... To reboot all the electronics, you disconnect the battery, short the leads together such that any charge left in the modules bleeds off ... re-connect the battery and pray.... by the way, Skoda would probably frown on this re-boot idea. They would contend it is not needed.
  21. Camshaft position sensor needs attention. The others many not be a real concern. The camshaft position sensor will effect the performance of engine so I would think you would want to resolve that.

  23. @Joe67 - you might take the time to read the online manual for VCDS-Lite. It explains how to do things with the tool.
  24. I can confirm that these sellers have made a unit that looks amazingly like ours. Note the screws and the raised grip bumps and the lack of a serial number. These are further clues that it is a clone.
  25. Can you find someone nearby who has VCDS (VAG-COM) and pull a full scan of the car? At the moment, we have no clue as to what happened during that diagnostic session..
