  1. Hello all, Scanned the car and got a open circuit fault on roof aerial, Explains why radio reception is so bad. Can anyone tell me the part number for the aerial and the base, Thanks.
  2. So the HEX+CAN is the one to go for, Thanks Gizmo.
  3. Hi all, Looking into buying VCDS from one of the UK approved suppliers but don't know which one is the right one to get. VCDS Micro Can, Premium VCDS Kit or VCDS Hex+ Can USB.. Any advice, Thanks.
  4. This is Skoda we are talking about, I don't think they are familiar with the words of ''Nominal prices'' .. I know years ago my old Primera rear trim clips were £1 each, And that had 15 of them to hold the rear hatch trim on, Nissan didn't have a clue about reasonable pricing either..
  5. Cable ties are not a very good option, especially if using a genuine VW boot.
  6. Many thanks to andyvee for checking it out for me, Saved me from buying a fake.
  7. That's what i was thinking, The photo's show what they are selling, The paperwork looks like a genuine certificate and the cable looks legit?
  8. Hi, Just noticed that on that famous site there are people selling laptops with what looks like genuine Ross Tech cable/paperwork,software etc. Are these genuine products? Just a bit wary cos they seem too cheap.
  9. i use a connects 2 box plugged into the CD changer port in the back of the Stream radio, I use it to plug my mobile phone into mainly so i can listen to digital radio though an app on the phone, Sound is very good too.
  10. Sent the Newcastle branch (Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate) an email asking if they sell to the public. No reply, So i guess it's a no from them !
  11. I would put the money towards getting the genuine Ross-Tech cable instead of getting a generic reader, Probably pay for itself in the long run.
  12. Not tried heating them, The only thing i've got is a hair dryer and i don't think that will persuade them out . There is serious lack of space to move under there, Got a 2 foot breaker bar but cannot get that in there, A rough estimate of the cost of parts is £240 from dealer plus labour, for me to buy them (online etc) is about £100 so just gonna let my local garage do it.
  13. Thanks for the replies, I simply cannot get these 2 bolts out, Doesn't matter what i try they won't budge. So the car will be off to local garage to have it done, Costing £170, cannot believe i've been defeated by 2 bolts! :S
  14. well started to strip everything down on the rear left calliper to do the ABS sensor, BUT i've had to give up, defeated by the two bolts that hold the calliper carrier on.. Is there any easy way of getting these ba**ards out ? Thanks guys...
  15. That's the one i've got. It's ok for basic things but that's about it. Also it won't access some of the other components, Very basic code reader.
  16. There's 4 different types that by the descriptions will fit my car, I think it's going to be a case of enny meeny miny moe
  17. And the powers that be keep preaching to us that a diesel car is a dirty polluting piece of machinery, Seems using these additives and a bit of TLC can make us oil burners as clean if not cleaner than our petrol burning counterparts
  18. By what i can see it's Mann + Hummel and the part number on the housing is 1K0127400E if that helps?
  19. Yeah looking through google my car should have been tested at the 3.00 1/m But it's been done at 1.50 1/m Either way i think it's pretty good for a 10 year old car but don't know if the Millers additive has anything to do with or not.
  20. It's Millers diesel power max, Been using it just to try and keep the internals of the engine clean, And yes Silver, I notice in the cars handbook that additives are not recommended but i suppose that is just covering their ar*e sort of thing . I've also noticed with mine that when ''putting me foot down'' there's no huge clouds of smoke billowing out the exhaust, Unlike some other diesels i've seen. plus i change the oil and filter twice a year using long life low soot 507 oil, So don't know if that might be helping too.
  21. Hi, Can anyone confirm the part number for a Diesel fuel filter, Octavia 2.0 TDI BKD engine.. Is it 1K0127434A or 1K0127434 ? With or without the 'A' ? . Thanks..
  22. Hi all, Just been looking over my MOT emissions printouts from last year and now. Been using a fuel additive for a year now, My emission report from last year was -- Test limit applied; 1.50 1/m Absorption coefficient; 1.30 1/m zero drift; 0.01 1/m This year after using the additive-- Test limit applied; 1.50 1/m Absorption coefficient; 0.25 1/m Zero drift 0.00 1/m Test type applied; Fast pass. Test result; pass. I have not got a clue what these figures mean, But some of you will know.. Does this show that the additive that i've been using is actually doing something or are there other things to be considered ?? Just very curious..
  23. Powerful yes, Cheap tax yes ''at the moment'', good MPG yes, You get a low down torque with a diesel unlike some petrol engines..
