  1. IMO perfectly normal under the circumstances ( left out in the rain for a few days of non- use) & soon eradicated with a couple of minutes AC on full plus the front demister.
  2. Would also be very interested in a solution ! It's most confusing to hear the A419 to be announced as "A FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE" !!
  3. With the demonisation of diesel ( unfounded IMO), I have decided to change fuels, and used it as a reason to change from my 2nd Octy 3 to a Karoq Edition, 1.5 tsi, DSG. The Octavia's, both 1.6 TDI DSG have been brilliant, absolutely reliable and have never missed a beat during a combined mileage of 50k. I'm really looking forward to the Karoq ( collect it on Monday), but will miss the 55- 60mpg I regularly obtained on a decent run with the diesels ! So, farewell to the Octy community, wef Monday I'll be hopping over to the Karoq forum - best wishes from a frequent, and grateful, user of this Forum, it helped my knowledge immensely.

I take delivery of my Edition on Monday at 13.30 hrs! It's in Candy White with the beige interior, a combination I reckon will be unique as most Edition buyers opt for the metallics. Ordered on 17th April, so an approx 14 weeks wait, which is only a fortnight longer than I was warned of when ordering. The problem has been the uncertainty in knowing if it was going to be built ! The EU led WLTP regs have certainly put a spanner in the works, but with the coming of September and the Skoda factory back at work, the backlog should soon be shifted, and this "Delivery times" thread will become almost redundant ! Incidentally, using this Briskoda site's facility, I obtained my GAP insurance for less than a third than the dealers offerings ! Good luck to all awaiting their Karoq orders, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Enjoy your day Dunks, I'm sure you will ! I was shown a list today of at least 70 Skoda's my dealership had ordered, mostly for stock I think. Only eight (8) had been built, the rest all delayed for one reason or other, but WLTP issues the main problem it seems. As I said earlier, have been so lucky in getting ours, so "looking on the bright side" has paid off !

Went to my dealers today to sign the paperwork, to be informed my car had been unloaded & was in their compound awaiting PDI ! I cannot believe how lucky I've been, to order the Edition & despite all the troubles guys on here have experienced, have it delivered exactly as I'd hoped, so, so fortunate I know. Was taken to it, sat in "my" drivers seat & even given the manual to take home & read before I collect a week Monday ! I cannot fault either the dealership (Mitchell's, Cheshire Oaks), who have been superb in keeping me updated, or Skoda "Live Chat" who have been as equally helpful. Incidentally, I travel 65 miles each way to Mitchell's, when my local Skoda dealers is about 10 miles away - the difference in service is like chalk n cheese, & well worth the extra distance involved to obtain REAL customer service - now, where's that manual, only got a week to read it !?!

Email today from my dealership saying my Karoq has landed, in the compound and delivery expected within 5 working days. A phonecall this afternoon asking me to choose my registration from a list of about 20, AND saying my car is being delivered to them tomorrow ! All being well, with PDI completed I will collect on Monday 30th, just as current insurance expires - just luv it when a plan comes together !!

That's a long time to be stuck in Grimsby, Dunks - I'm hoping there might be a few more ordered from the North West to justify filling a transporter with the required number (12 ?) to facilitate a trip across the Pennines ! Good luck with getting yours, despite our "waits", I'm certain it'll be worth it.

It's on the boat !! My dealership phoned early doors this morning to inform me my Karoq Edition is "on the boat" ! Ordered 17th April, just two options (spare wheel & auto lights assist), and 14 weeks later it has set sail. My target is 30/31st July, so reckon two weeks time (31st) is well within the time frame for transporter trip to Mitchell's and their PDI to have all been completed. I've arranged "Preferential Termination" for my current car , an Octy3 SEL 1.6 Tdi, which no doubt Mitchell's will put up for sale - you'll be getting a good 'un if you buy it !

Looks the bizz ! Well done for getting your car in just 10 weeks - mine's been in Emden for nearly three !!

Have just "spoken" with the ever helpful Skoda Live Chat, who informed me that my Edition is still in port at Emden ! Doh, but at least I know.

Mine also ordered from Mitchells, a few weeks after yours but, maybe, just maybe, it was on the same boat !

I "spoke" on Skoda Live Chat today for the 1st time, asking the whereabouts of my now-built Karoq. Very helpful, & within minutes confirmed "it arrived in Emden on 29 June, released to ship, where it could remain for up to 10 working days". I'm hopeful that my experience won't mirror that of others on here by being delayed, but hey, it HAS been built & is on the way, so I'm happy ! Full marks to Skoda Customer Services & Live Chat, I've found them to be excellent
  14. I cannot believe, even in this utterly "PC daft world" we now live in, that someone (SCOT 5) would steer a fascinating video of CAR PRODUCTION, into a debate over diversity ! Could it be because, being a "Jock", he / she is being over sensitive and wishes to wave the "Braveheart" flag for Independence !?! C'mon SCOT 5, get a life , & enjoy the film for what it is, not what you wish to perceive.
  15. Thanks for sharing that - it was fascinating, eye opening & like watching poetry in motion !

Eureka !! Have been informed my Edition version, Candy White with beige interior, has been built , now "Code 30 In Transit From Factory" ! Have been advised it'll be between 2-4 weeks before arriving on site at the dealership, but that's OK with me, at least it's been built & is on the way . Incidentally, I'd phoned Skoda UK before I knew, and found the lady replying very helpful & obliging, and so despite what I had read on here, I have found the process moving along according to plan and without the problems I had feared. With that said, I'm so lucky to have ordered when I did, a couple of weeks later & things may have been totally different.
  18. Great cars, great registrations !
  19. Hence the reason I travel 55 miles each way to Mitchell's ( Cheshire Oaks) for excellent customer service rather than the local ( 6 mile distance) dealership who are appalling IMO.

This is the week ( No.25) when my Edition is due to be built - as yet no confirmation that it has been, so I'm on tenterhooks but have been reminded the week doesn't end until Sunday ! I am informed that Skoda are discontinuing the Edition in 2 wheel drive and will build them in 4x4 DSG spec only in future. Dealers are still taking orders for the Karoq but they just won't be built until September / October time. Providing mine IS built this week then I'll count myself extremely lucky to have ordered when I did ( mid April), and won't even mind waiting for delivery - I just don't want the awful experience some on here have had with late cancellations. Until I get confirmation, it's "squeaky bum" time !!

I ordered 17th April ("Edition", Candy White, Beige Interior, Light Assist & Spare Wheel) and was today informed by the dealer I am now "Code 20, Week 25", which indicates my car is being built next week ! Dealer sent me a screenshot of the updated order as confirmation, so although actual delivery is likely to be a tad later than I'd hoped, it's MUCH better news than those unfortunate guys who've had their orders cancelled. My fingers are now crossed that there are no hold ups along the way

DaveOL , Sorry - just to clarify, my Build Week is 25, not as I previously quoted (35), and the order was placed on 17th April for an Edition with beige interior in Candy White, the only options being a full sized spare wheel & high beam assist (£200, standard on my Octy 3 SEL !). Apologies for any confusion caused.

Apologies to one & all, must have been a "senior moment" yet again. My Build Week is 25, NOT 35, for an Edition version ,beige interior, in Candy White. I'm still hopeful of very early July delivery, but am also "looking for those pigs flying overhead" !

Not sure where Geoff W gets his "Build Week" dates from ( Wk 27 = 3rd July) - my Build Week has been given as Wk 35, which I'm informed is week commencing 18 June ! I really hope my information is the correct one !
