  1. Well it seems unanimous for me now. Super is better. 80mile route on the M1 using Esso unleaded = 33mpg. Same route using Esso Super = 38mpg. This was after 5 fill ups of Esso Super unleaded in my vRS to rid regular out of the car. Adaptive cruise was used and set at 73mpg. M1 was quiet both times will little traffic. Question is, is the price difference worth it? My local Esso garage charges: Unleaded = £1.25 Super unleaded = £1.35 =£5 extra for my 50l tank 50 litres = 13.2 gallons 5mpg extra *13.2 gallons = 66miles extra range with Super Unleaded. There are flaws in my maths but it's approx 15% extra range for 7% uplift in price.
  2. Probably a stupid question as I'm sure you would have mentioned it already if they hadn't but did they do a good job? Does it still look/feel factory new?
  3. I noticed they stick in the cold only. I went for an hour's drive up the M1 today with the climatronic on 21c and they didn't stick any more. I'd hazard a guess and say they'd be fine during summer and start sticking again in the winter. Wonder if prolonged exposure to heat would fix them?
  4. A little! £225 on (Amazon price) is a lot. Box/rack or whatever is extra too. Are these "£200 better" than the Automaxi Euromat? I suspect not.
  5. I have the exact same problem. Just on the outer buttons.
  6. You also get the name of the road you are on on the maxidot on the navigation screen
  7. Glad to hear it's fixed. Is what they applied inside the sunglasses compartment or did they need to dismantle the cluster and refit?
  8. Yes, sorry life got in the way. Managed to wash the car and fit this today. Not bad for £5 and I prefer it to the glossy plastic boot sill protectors as its virtually invisible unless close up. Its basically a piece of thick pre-cut sticky back plastic. Its contoured well for the tailgate but a little off shape for the lip of the bumper. Hopefully you can see this from the photos. I applied it using the soapy water method. As you can see from the photos, it covers the vast majority of the boot sill but doesn't extend to the lip of bumper edge......but neither do the glossy plastic protectors either. Overall I'm happy with it, you can't really go wrong for £5. Its also easily removable.
  9. It allows you to navigate through your iPod / iPhone / iPad Media library from the car's touch screen dash. If you have the Columbus, you don't need Mitsumi.
  10. If I have 2 phones in my car both using Bluetooth (1 on a call through the car and the other streaming music through the car), the quality of the music goes to pot for the duration of the call.
  11. Do you have more than 1 phone in the car with Bluetooth on?
  12. The far left and far right buttons on my VRS' steering wheel stick.......even more so when the cabin is cold. I guess this is a replacement under warranty job but I hate having my car taken apart after just 1 month as things rarely go back like a factory fit in my experience. Anyone else had this and had it fixed? Good job?
  13. For the Apple connection, this has been covered in many recent threads but you have 3 choices: Stream via Bluetooth (all head units (Bolero, Amundsen & Columbus) can do this. For a wired connection, either: Mitsumi option for the Bolero and Amundsen gives you a wired connection via a special cable. or The Columbus head unit has a direct wired connection via USB - no special cable required.
  14. I feel very fortunate then. Factory build day to dealer, 9 days!
  15. Yep, each key has it's own settings.
  16. So I'm confused. The filler cap on my vRS says 95ron. Are we saying the default fuel should be 97/98?
  17. 32 with motorway driving. Late 20s around town / driving like there is no tomorrow. This is on my vRS TSi with 600miles on the clock.
  18. Aces. Thanks. I would have never thought to do this. I will use this method when my clear one arrives from Germany....should be any day now.
  19. Yes ditto. Canton upgrade is worthy of the cash and gets better with age. It does sound less impressive when new.
  20. You can buy them all online. Genuine Skoda touch up sticks. I bought a Black magic one as I have a stone chip in my front right wing :-( http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/category/Paint_Touch_Up_Stick,l.html £11, free delivery.
  21. The same functionality - all the metadata from the current track (minus the album art) is displayed. You just have to use the phone if you wanted to change to anything outside of the current playlist / album. Its much better (safer?) to use the Columbus touchscreen rather than looking down at your phone IMO. Not sure if you can use the MaxiDOT via the MFSW to change albums/playlists. Must check that out. Either way, its a nice surprise that the Columbus supports iOS natively. I keep finding out little things like this with the car and I'm always left pleasantly surprised. This cable comes in very handy to avoid long trailing Lightening Cables.
