  1. A serious locksmith or someone with speciality in cars can programme you a second key. Example: https://www.jdpower.com/cars/shopping-guides/how-to-program-a-car-key-chip The cost for that programmed second key in a shop is about 20 euro.
  2. Unfortunately that is the sad true for many parts, only after market are available and sometimes only VIKA. So many owners if they want Original the buy used parts.
  3. I will use a combination or IR gun and IR camera photos. Both can not go so wrong.
  4. Application installed for IR photo, in few days i will give that app a try.
  5. No OBD II in Felicia, the OBD 11 fits in us but i don't have it with me now. I am traveling, in the stop (Cafe parking lot) for coffee i can touch the shield with bear hands, the air intake absolutely not. I will take measurements in the next days.
  6. I have family obligations, unfortunately no money for such luxuries.

  8. Here are the results from the today's test. I use this digital thermometer (not a IR pistol) and as you can understand i had to wait some minutes to take each measure. For sure i was not looking for the ''perfect'' result, it's not a F1 laboratory here but i wanted to see the difference between the Shielded and the No Shielded air intake. Now the Shielded area. As you can the there is a significant difference and i think this is good for the performance. 💪 More photos from a test when i return from my vacations trip, the engine will run hotter, the temperatures would be higher and i will use a Laser Thermometer like this. Till next time...''Stay Shielded". 😃
  9. Today was the day for the final test of FC with the modified air filter box in hot summer City conditions. The next would be after i finish my vacations trip in the country so no City traffic conditions. From 92023 the indication reached the 92133 ,actually from 94,9 Km reached the 205,4 Km in the odometer which means 110,5 Km distance mainly in City traffic and some kilometres in Mountain road till 3rd gear only, so no 4th gear or no red line rpm zone. The ''drawback" of the not good acceleration with 3rd gear in 2000 rpm in uphill was present of course, after the modification is "taken for granted" and i can not do anything about it but let's see the results of the FC. For those 1110,5 Km the gas pump shown 8,670 ltr which means the Total FC was 7,84 ltr/ 100 Km or 36.03 British MPG. 🤩 The modification WORKS and all these tests approve it, after the vacations trip (Highway, Mountain roads) there are some tests to do in the winter (City traffic) and i have covered all the seasons and all situations.
  10. Here is today with the metal zip ties or Stainless Steel Cable Ties. Except the air condition hose (older heat sleeve modification) i put in the throttle sensor cables and a small part in the vacuum hose-fuel line. I bought a digital thermometer and this is the first test with the aluminium tape that i had. The difference is 3 'C only but keep in mind that the car has left after a ride about 4 hours parked in the road, the measurements are not when i just finished the ride so are not final. Now that the Heat Shield-Sleeve procedure finished i will take some measurements immediately when i finish the trip so the results would be more valid.
  11. Don't break anything, there are easiest ways. Car unlock when you have lost your key.
  12. If there is a big leak those additives are not going to save you. They supposed keep the O rings-gaskets-bushings etc soft so they seal as they should be so no leaks. Don't relay on them, in the past some use them to "patch things" so they will sell the car to the next byer as "used but with no problems".
  13. You have to remove yours to see the shape-code on it,type etc and then to buy the same.
  14. 032121110B must be your part code. In the end before the trip remove any possible air bubbles and make a pressure test to see if there are any possible leaks.
  15. Profited is better than buy it separately. The ring on the thermostat sensor in your car was yellow or blue? A brand one (with the same colour ring) is much better than a no name or VIKA. The differences are in the 'C range, always i had problem with the yellow ones.
  16. Some examples: https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/032121111d-thermostat-housing-1-6mpi-china-23867.html https://kritosparts.gr/Part/THERMOSTATIS-VERNET-62741287J/e21562741287J I have the 1.3 but i have learned that it's better to buy it with housing (gasket included) and not separately. As for the ring (yellow or blue) mine works betetr with the blue. Change the coolant too, now it's an A' class chance.
  17. Here is how they solve the problem. Warm air intake? https://www.grcorollaforum.com/threads/warm-air-intake.1479/ So even in modern cars an small modification can do the difference. Same here too?
  18. Here is what i found today, Toyota GR Corolla Ownership | Good and Bad Times Ahead. At 16:50 till 18:02 says for bad factory design that sucks hot air, see? the engineers are not ''perfect" guys and always there is room for improvement.
  19. Here is the first part of the Heat Shield and i add another onein front area only. Here is as the engine bay looks now, the metal tie wraps arrived and i will install them in few days.

  21. I don't trust any more anything from that VIKA motor, not even a washer. Both motors are recycled now.
  22. Do you remember what H.Ford said (at 1963) before Le Man 1966 race?
  23. You have to lift the car for inspection, maybe if from the rubber bushing of the gearbox axis.
  24. I already have done 4 tests and i will do another one before my summer vacation trip. I have seen (and i expect) positive results but in winter i will have a complete image.
