Have you ever heard of diversity of opinions? What is wrong with you? Daily life became too expensive in the UK? Personal problems? Too much coffee and sugar? Or just hatred? You can have your own arguments without resorting to aggressiveness. Believe it or not, this is a section dedicated to CLASSIC Skodas. All my replies refer to CLASSIC Skodas. I will always stay on that subject despite the section being trolled and transformed into a mess of everything and nothing. I am well aware of poor quality of the parts put by VW on cars newer than Skoda Felicia. Too much plastic.

I have already answered to this SPECIFIC question, but it is obvious you are blinded by hate and too superficial to get it. Your arguments are always a long list of TANGENT subjects (your entire life, your unrelated business, your mates, your neighbours, your other cars, etc, etc) I will try again, maybe this time you will be able to reason. Here are the possibilities: "honesty of the dealers, work quality of the dealers." You don't know for sure what parts they installed (new or refurbished, rejected parts). You don't know for sure if they installed correctly the part. Dealers can easily cut corners because time is money, or even worse, they can intentionally do a sloppy job because they were angered by the client). Feel free to rant as usual but without breaking the rules of the forum. The "Report" button is just one click away.

You are very hasty on conclusions about OE quality by totally disregarding a lot of variables. Driving incidents, quality of the roads, harsh environment, honesty of the dealers, work quality of the dealers, and a lot more. There are no parts better than OE parts.

VAG Modules Identification Codes List
Hi I have scanned the modules in my car and came with the topology shown in attached photo. Please help me identify the name of the modules with codes HBM_8C and HOB_BD. Is there a complete list of all VAG modules identification codes?

@Thefeliciahacker Andreas, please let him try whatever he wants. Let him make whatever mistakes he wants to make. Heck, let him recite and eat with the big spoon any marketing BS he finds. It is his life he's playing with. You will NEVER change his destiny. It is better to stay and watch the inevitable. Just don't reply to any of his posts. It is obvious that every topic he created is not debatable. So let him play ping-pong only with his trolling friend for years. I can assure you that potential readers of those lengthy and useless topics will either fall asleep or they will exercise their critical thinking using their own brain. Trust me. There is a very telling proverb that says "give him enough rope to hang himself". Enjoy.

A reminder for those brave enough to retrofit Xenon headlights on Skoda Felicia. European regulations demand that Xenon headlights/projectors are provided with washers and a self-leveling mechanism.

EGR removal on a car with a carburetor and no ECU is mainly advantageous. The engine will breathe better and will stay cleaner. As a comparison, imagine how it would be that somebody blows you cigarette smoke into your mouth/nose instead of fresh air just because you exhale "too much CO2 and NO". Yeah, the pollution will be slightly higher, but compared to all Diesel cars which leave behind trails of disgusting ash, your car is a spring flower,

Sorry for repeating this to you, but for somebody who has zero technical expertise, you come with an awful lot of advice, not to mention endless trolling. The topics in this section are rivers of platitudes because of you. Sometimes i wonder if you are not a chat bot or some sort of virus. But that is a very slim probability, since it is obvious you are a lonely, retired person who has too much free time at home. Better try knitting, gardening, raising "chicks" (in the backyard), taking long walks in local parks, or God forbid, find a wife to keep you company and keeping you away from the Internet.

It is disturbing that you struggle so much for somebody who does not deserve to be helped anymore because he is deaf to any advice. He will have to learn the damage the HARD way. I cry daily for him, especially since he poses like a victim from a Spartan war in his lame signature. Cry me a river 😪

My 2 cents about our young fellow Andreas, also known as @Thefeliciahacker He is well informed about car mechanics and he made a personal hobby from repairing and maintaining his car(s). I don't see him as arrogant at all. I don't mind when he has different opinions than mine if he comes with valid, pertinent alternatives. My understanding is he doesn't like technical DISINFORMATION. More precisely, he wouldn't like that wrong technical opinions to remain as valuable tips for those who read the topics in this section. It is understandable why we have the same views. It is not a sign of arrogance if he reacts to technical misinformation coming from amateurs who never repaired anything on their fELICIA with their hands and who believe in marketing claims as if it is the Bible.

@hzoltaan If you want to see how it is done AND to learn some other interesting things on the side, I recommend this video. If you need just the cylinder leakdown test (CLT) see this video.

Not only that. Suspension modifications affect the steering, the wear of the tires, the braking, and the comfort. Suspension design is a complicated science in itself. Only amateurs believe in marketing claims and follow them without any knowledge about the theory and extensive tests behind a really professional suspension modification.

SP-EL company makes good, modernized products indeed. While i am a big fan for most of their products for many years, I have my doubts about their dural adapter. The weak point is the cardboard gaskets. Probably that was the reason you added information about flexoid. Thank you for the information. I didn't test it yet. I will order a few samples. I had clients who accepted to make Viton rubber gaskets for them. It is the most reliable solution by far, except the price is higher. I am sure the dural adapter has perfect, parallel faces compared to cheap aftermarket adapters. But there is a catch. From my experience, the base of the carburetor and the flange of the intake manifold are warped after 20+ years of operation. No cardboard gasket will seal that area exposed to high temperature, fuel, and vibrations, unless you take the extra effort to rectify both surfaces mentioned before. That is why I mentioned Reinzosil as my first option. It allowed me to avoid any extra labor because a liquid gasket will conform to any surface irregularities.

I remember you from several years ago. Columbia is one of the South American countries where Skoda Felicia found a good home. Yes, of course I still have my Felicia. You can see it in my signature, aside to my Tiguan. Jikov 28-32 carburetors mounted on Skoda Felicia and Favorit are 'clones' of Pierburg 2E3. I'd say that a mandatory condition for a Jikov carburetor to work properly is to have a perfect vacuum seal under the throttle flap. When the original rubber seal started to rot from gasoline and high heat, I had a hard time finding a reliable replacement. I ended up using liquid seal from Viktor Reinz (Reinzosil) to patch any vacuum leak of the new aftermarket rubber gaskets. The rest of advice about the carburetor are in a PDF document issued by another former member of this forum, masster.

It is obvious from your lengthy replies that you have a lot of free time and for you it is entertaining to kill it with all kind of unrelated stories. When I say "unrelated" that refers to the subject, or the title of a topic, useful for those who search for advice. Right now, if somebody needs technical help in this section, (many people used to come to this forum from tens of foreign countries), he/she has a hard time hunting for relevant information about his/her issue. Why is that? Because one has to read your novels about nothing and everything. I find that disrespectful towards all those who own a Skoda Felicia/Favorit. The testimony for my opinion are thousands of specific replies and guides I wrote for them, often with schematics, annotated photos, illustrations, and videos. For them I got in return their thanks and appreciation. As an example, everything went well in this topic, until you felt the need to be unnecessary sarcastic towards me for the simple reason you felt hurt for somebody else's feelings. Nobody asked you anything, nobody complained, nobody mandated you as his attorney, on the contrary, the OP thanked me for helping him with information from my very large technical library gathered in so many years working as a car mechanic. This forum is neither a contest for who is more sensitive, motherly, or woke, nor a platform for defending people deprived of their human rights. The OP was happy he got help in a forum totally unrelated to his car, although there are many SAAB forums out there. I have every right to express my dissatisfaction when those in need of help are wasting my time providing contradicting, incomplete, or plain wrong information. It is like going to a car garage and saying that you need your car fixed because the engine has a lack of power, the mechanic takes your word for it because the client knows better, then he verifies your claim, reports the engine is working perfectly, then you say "oh, I wanted in fact to say that the left blinker is not working all the time". Except that in real life they have to pay for extra diagnose time. So let's cut the crap and focus on technical matters, not in nursing the souls of deeply troubled people. I am sure you will take the opportunity to write a new novel in reply, without agreeing to any of my opinions. That is why I promise you that from now on I will not read anything longer than 2 rows coming from you.
